Today we had the honor to meet with a delegation from the Georgian Martime Transport Agency represent by its Director Mr. Alexi Akhvlediani and several Georgian colleagues. Today, we officially launched EMPAsafe! 🚀✨ After over a year of dedicated collaboration with our friends at AMURA, we are proud to unveil EMPAsafe, a powerful tool that empowers pilots to share potentially hazardous situations, including non-compliant pilot transfer arrangements, with one another. This first-of-its-kind tool that connects European Maritime Pilots' Association (EMPA) members with a view to improving personal and maritime industry safety. Sharing information 📢 can save lives ❤️. We are thrilled to be on the brink of launching our first app, created in partnership with AMURA. This article will unveil EMPAsafe, a groundbreaking platform set to transform how pilots communicate critical information to one another. We eagerly anticipate our launch on October 22nd.

The members of the European Maritime Pilots' Association (EMPA) Board usually convene for monthly virtual meetings, but for the October meeting, we had the pleasure of gathering in Brussels. It was a fantastic opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues in person, and the face-to-face interaction made the experience even more meaningful. The agenda included updates on projects we are currently working on, such as GREENPORT Alliances and the European Shipping Summit (ESS). We also provided reports on our attendance at the Remote Pilotage Days conference in Finland and the International Ship Autonomy and Sustainability Summit in Hamburg.

GREENPORT Alliances is an initiative promoting sustainability and green skills in the maritime port services sector through collaboration between academia, industry, and industry representative bodies to drive behavioral change and reduce emissions within port operations. We are proud to be part of this EU funded project.

This year's International Maritime Pilots' Association (IMPA) starts today. We ask all pilots to participate in this campaign by reporting on all transfers until October 15th. The information gathered is invaluable when advocating for improved pilot transfer regulations, which will improve pilot safety.

As it is World Maritime Day, we have decided to launch the next article in our series of articles on female pilots. In this article, Christin Wenge, a maritime pilot in the Port of Hamburg, shares her inspiring story about her career at sea and her journey in the maritime industry to becoming a pilot. She bravely discusses her experiences as a woman in this line of work, encompassing the good and bad.
