In case you weren't able to follow the livestream earlier today: you can watch the recording of the World Health Summit session with ESCAP President Jörg M. Fegert on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/eznA7spV #youthmentalhealth #mentalhealth #digitalmentalhealth
In today's session at the World Health Summit on "Accessible Support in Mental Health: Facing the Silent Epidemic", I spoke about how digital technologies offer many opportunities especially as we are experiencing a youth mental health crisis with long waiting lists and a shortage of healthcare professionals. It is essential though that regulations are in place to ensure the quality of information shared. I also think that we need to become more digital in the traditional, established clinical care sector and catch up with the digital revolution. A lot of basic interventions can also be used in digitally supported interventions and in group interventions and not only in a 1:1 therapeutic setting. The full recording of our session is available to watch on YouTube: https://lnkd.in/dnWQD3Qj Here's a short snippet of me speaking on how crucial transition phases are and framing issues from a developmental perspective: https://lnkd.in/d53daBSQ I am also happy to share my notes: https://lnkd.in/d3WSG8xZ Many thanks to our host and moderator Götz "GG" Gottschalk, MBA and my fellow panelists Megan Jones Bell, Marjorie Morrison, Dr. Victor Ugo and Orkan Okan! It was a pleasure meeting you and listening to your perspectives. #youthmentalhealth #mentalhealth #worldhealthsummit2024 #whs2024 #digitalmentalhealthservices

WHO publish mosaic toolkit to end stigma and discrimination in mental health Stigma and discrimination related to mental health conditions are widespread and harmful. Reducing stigma and discrimination can benefit families, societies and economies – it can save lives. The toolkit offers practical guidance on how to achieve this, based on three core evidence-based principles: leadership or co-leadership by people with lived experience, social contact, and inclusive partnerships. These 3 principles can be realized using a four-step process: identify and define aims, plan and prepare, launch and learn and reflect and proceed. Twelve case studies from all across the world are provided to demystify the process. Stigma and discrimination can be ended if each of us acts as one using the principles in this toolkit. https://lnkd.in/ejr8kXwF #mentalhealth #mentalhealthstigma #WHO
