Yesterday, Sévrine Pereira Teixeira joined a panel discussion organised by the French packaging organisation Conseil National de l'Emballage at ALL4PACK Emballage Paris. 🎤 She was joined by representatives from our member companies, Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and Amazon, to discuss the vital role of innovation in #packaging development and to advance #packaging circularity. 🚀 Key takeaways from the discussion were: 🔹 Reduction, #recycling, and #reuse form the key pillars of companies’ continuous efforts to decarbonise #packaging and boost their circularity. 🔹 Responsibility is a pivotal concept to achieving the EU circular economy: not only the responsibility of industry to deliver sustainable #packaging but also a collective responsibility to ensure the future #PPWR objectives are achieved in practice. 🔹 Innovation is an essential factor in achieving this ambition. The EU needs a framework that supports innovation and investments, not forgetting the key functionalities of #packaging and ensuring consumers are on board in this transition journey. Thank you very much for the invitation and great discussions! 🤝 #Innovation #Packaging #Sustainability #All4PackEmballageParis

Harmonisation, policy coherence and simplification (indeed, removal of unnecessary administrative burden, not deregulation) have been the mantras of our policy engagement and will continue to be at the centre of our call for better #EU policy-making. Now, let’s walk the talk and unlock the full potential of our unique #SingleMarket. Curious about our approach? Single Market: The Key to Boosting Europe’s Competitiveness 🚀 In Monday’s plenary session, Enrico Letta stressed: 🔹The need to deepen the #SingleMarket 🔹The importance of simplifying regulations and reducing bureaucracy These steps are necessary to keep pace with global players and support the fair, green, and digital transition. MEPs emphasised the need to act on the recommendations from Enrico Letta and Mario Draghi, acknowledging the challenge of not having a dedicated Commissioner for the internal market in the new College of Commissioners. They called for reducing bureaucracy, preventing capital outflow, prioritising the daily lives of EU citizens, and properly implementing existing measures. 🔍 These messages align with the priorities of the Joint European Industry Manifesto, led by EUROPEN and signed by 85 European and national industry associations in April. On the first day of the European Council meeting, leaders discussed Mario Draghi’s and Enrico Letta’s reports on European #competitiveness and the #SingleMarket respectively. The issue will be addressed at the informal meeting in Budapest in November. 🔹The European Council will continue to provide regular strategic guidance to ensure the effective implementation of the Union's #competitiveness agenda.
