🚀 EUTA engages with European Parliament to strengthen Europe’s tech competitiveness! 🇪🇺💡
Eleven CEOs from top EU tech companies met with key Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from the EPP, Renew Europe, and the Greens to discuss pressing challenges.
🔑 Key priorities discussed:
1️⃣ Reducing regulatory burdens – Free up resources for innovation by streamlining regulations!
2️⃣ Ensuring consistent enforcement of EU rules – Level the playing field for all companies operating in the EU.
3️⃣ Adopting risk-based regulations – Tailor policies to diverse tech models, avoiding a one-size-fits-all approach.
🗣️ Antoine Jouteau, EUTA President and CEO of Adevinta, commented: “The fever of regulation is becoming a problem. EU tech companies now allocate up to 30% of their roadmap on compliance, diverting valuable resources away from innovation and enhancing the consumer experience."
🗣️ Victoria de Posson, EUTA Secretary General, emphasised: “European tech companies need time to digest the numerous regulatory layers introduced in recent years. Any future initiatives must be risk-based and carefully tailored to safeguard Europe’s competitiveness."
