Earlier this month, Koen Sijsmans and Peter Lanoye traveled to Madison, Wisconsin to attend the 2024 World Dairy Expo. Focusing on developments and updates within the dairy industry, this year’s expo theme focused on “The Golden Age,” highlighting advancements and innovations within modern dairy farming. There was also a special focus on sustainability in future farming, particularly on increasing efficiency in milk yielding and an emphasis on cow welfare. While there, Koen and Peter met and networked with their North American customers. The ideal grounds to discuss how Federal Eco Foam’s high-quality, reliable rebond polyurethane and latex foams comply with the changing needs and trends in the Animal Comfort industry. They also participated in discussions about the latest health and welfare requirements in the dairy industry, gaining valuable insights to intensify future eco-friendly and sustainable product development of the cow comfort mattresses of the future. Thank you to the World Dairy Expo for putting on such an insightful event!

We’re excited to announce our tatamis were selected to be the featured mats in Sportpark De Soeverein, located in Lommel, being one of the most prestigious dojos in Belgium. To celebrate the grand inauguration, no one less than Judoka world champion Matthias Casse made a highly appreciated appearance to test the new mats. Prior to the opening, Matthias took a tour of our Lommel facility to witness the creation process of our martial arts mats. With his bachelor’s degree in process technology, Matthias took special interest in the production process, particularly in material selection and quality control policies. “After visiting their operations and testing out the new tatamis, I personally experienced the world-class quality of the company’s products. This is critical for allowing athletes to perform at their peak, whether they are world champions or young people just discovering martial arts,” said Matthias. We'd like to thank the Lommel City Council for selecting our mats for Sportpark De Soeverein, and Matthias for meeting with us to celebrate our dojo opening. We recently celebrated the retirement of two of our most beloved employees, Carina Weyens and Christiane Antonissen with a celebration lunch, followed by a factory tour and a joyful team's gathering. Carina has been with us for 42 years, working in various areas of the company. Her dedication and expertise, paired with her unmatched work ethic, has made her an wonderful asset to the company, as well as a colleague to work with. Christiane has worked with us for the 12 years, helping to keep the office and factory running smoothly by keeping the plants well-watered, our work areas clean, and providing a warm cup of coffee to all on a cold day and in times of need. We truly thank Carina and Christiane for all of their hard work over the past few years. You will both be truly missed!

We are excited to be a part of the Foam Recycling Ecosystem Evolution (FREE) project, collaborating with like-minded individuals at Ecomaison, SECONDLY and Covestro. Together, we’re researching sustainable recycling solutions for end-of-life polyurethane mattresses. By working together, we're identifying ways to extend polyurethane mattresses into the second generation while also diverting foam from landfills to work towards a green future.
Ever wondered what happens to your mattress at the end of its life? 🛏 In partnership with Ecomaison, SECONDLY and Federal Eco Foam BV we are on a mission to answer this question — through the 'Foam Recycling Ecosystem Evolution' (FREE) project. Our research initiative focuses on developing a more #sustainable recycling solution for end-of-life polyurethane mattress foams. This can be achieved through innovative mechanical and #ChemicalRecycling processes. ♻ FREE aims to create a replicable model for #CircularEconomy in the foam sector, ensuring efficient sorting and recycling while maximizing material recovery. The chemolysis of PU mattress foam is the first initiative of its kind and is named Evocycle® CQ Mattress. ℹ Discover more here: https://lnkd.in/ePkdTADC The suffix "CQ" stands for #CircularIntelligence and emphasizes that the technology makes its contribution to a #CircularEconomy in the form of significant material savings.
