FYEG’s Beyond Growth Platform (BGP) is looking for young green revolutionaries to join our fight for a better system! 💚 Who we are: We are a working group within FYEG exploring post-growth and different related concepts with the aim of building a fair economic system in Europe and beyond. We bring together young greens, activists, and experts from all over Europe (and wider), to discuss alternatives and advocate for making post-growth a part of mainstream European political and public discourse. We explore post-growth from diverse perspectives, incorporating decoloniality, global solidarity, and empowerment. Read more about what we do here: https://lnkd.in/eTgYyHed Why join the BGP and who are we looking for: The BGP works on different projects - we draft resolutions, write articles, organise events and workshops, make social media content. As a member of the BGP, you can: • Research and explore post-growth theories from the Global North and the Global South, to help steer the BGP and FYEG’s position  • Work on social media outputs, resolutions, statements, articles, and more • Organise events (in-person and online) around topics covered by the BPG • Push for the post-growth agenda within FYEG, the Greens, and beyond • Meet like-minded people. We are looking for people who are: • Affiliated with the (European) Green family in some way presently or in the past or aligned with BGP’s and FYEG’s values; • Committed to BGP’s mission of post-growth and motivated to work together to advocate for it. Some knowledge or experience in alternative sustainable development (such as degrowth, circular economy, Ecological Swaraj, Buen Vivir, convivial conservation, etc.) or relevant fields is a plus, but not necessary; • Reliable and accountable. We hold bi-weekly one-hour meetings and meet additionally when necessary. We especially recommend perspectives of young greens from South and East Europe, and from the Global South! The Working group is coordinated by Executive Committee Member Serdar as EC Responsible, and Platform Coordinators Mia, Lena and Vita. The BGP works in English. Calling all academics and non-academics working on degrowth: The Beyond Growth Platform is hosting a session on “Youth political organising for degrowth: Pathways for a politics of transformation through the present institutions” at this year's 11th International Degrowth Conference happening in Oslo in June. We opened a call for abstracts (max 400 words), from academic and non-academic contributors, particularly on: - Direct experiences in youth movements and political organising. - Degrowth policies and politics from a young, intersectional lens. - Insights from the Global South, highlighting the link between degrowth and decolonisation. We are happy to share our Youth Manifesto for the "Ready, Set, Go... The Green Future". 40 Young Greens from all over Europe came together this November in Baku, Azerbaijan to discuss, amend and vote a series of policies on greenwashing, climate migration, decolonisation, climate justice, food production and lifestyle and activism. They make suggestions to the EU and the Council of Europe from a young, intersectional, inclusive and green perspective.
