FERMA welcomes former Finnish President Niinistö's report on #Preparedness The report observes that private entreprises are key actors in building preparedness in the #EU. The expertise of Risk Managers in anticipating and mitigating threats can help shape a more resilient EU economy. FERMA | Federation of European Risk Management Associations apppreciates the recommendation to involve private sector stakeholders in preparedness policymaking. We make note of some key recommendations with concrete implications for Risk Managers, notably on a new EU Stockpiling strategy and on integrating 'preparedness-by-design' in future legislation. FERMA has submitted its contribution to the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA)'s public consultation on a new proportionality regime under the Solvency II framework: https://lnkd.in/dRQhNhkm FERMA's view is that the proposed methodology to define Small and Non-Complex Undertakings (SNCUs) is abundantly clear and that adding any further complexity would be unnecessary. Under the proposed new framework, most captives would qualify as SNCUs and benefit from proportionality measures. FERMA maintains a watchful eye on next steps and will work with its network to ensure Solvency II is more proportional and straightforward, as well as better-serving captives and the enterprises that make use of them.
