On January 29, Laurent Hamou, Co-chair of the Policy and Regulatory Working Group of Gas LNG Europe (GLE), GIE, participated in Active Communications International (ACI Europe)’s event, The Future of BioLNG: Europe 2025, in Amsterdam as a speaker in the panel “𝐵𝑖𝑜𝐿𝑁𝐺 𝑣𝑠 𝑂𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝐵𝑖𝑜𝑓𝑢𝑒𝑙𝑠: 𝑃𝑟𝑜𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐶𝑜𝑛𝑠”. During the panel, Laurent Hamou put forward the advantages of bioLNG, in complement to other biofuels :  🔸Advanced feedstocks, some with negative carbon intensity, 🔸Performant distribution infrastructure, leveraging on EU existing gas infrastructure thanks to equivalence liquefaction, that makes it competitive, 🔸Access to a deep and diversified market, spanning several sectors, mitigating the risk for investors. For instance, the shipping sector is an attractive outlet, benefiting from a fast-growing LNG fleet and several layers of specific mechanisms. 𝐺𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙 𝐷𝑒𝑡𝑎𝑖𝑙𝑠 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑝𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑙:   This 45-minute panel brought together top energy sector experts:  🗣 Ralf Dickgreber, Head of Global LNG & Biomass, ENGIE   🗣 Emmanuel Mannooretonil, Director – Sustainable Gas, DCC plc 🗣 Stefano Murace, Policy Advisor, Eurogas This panel discussion focused on:  🔹Getting a better understanding of the differences between biodiesel, bioethanol, and biogas 🔹Implementing technological advancements and assessing the economic viability  🔹Synergy with established infrastructure   🔹Exploring different BioLNG route-to-market models

🥂🌍2025: here's to a defining year for competitiveness! European Net Zero Alliance (ENZA) had the great pleasure to co-organise a New Year's Drink at the European Parliament, hosted by MEP Christian Ehler, to bring together key stakeholders in the energy transition to discuss the EU's path to net zero. Former ENZA Chair Gert De Block (CEDEC- European Federation of Local & Regional Energy Companies) and current ENZA Chair Jorgo Chatzimarkakis (Hydrogen Europe) reaffirmed ENZA's commitment to support policymakers in delivering a competitive energy transition. ENZA's strong network fosters synergies across sectors and technologies. The members of our alliance are eager to support a pragmatic and technology-open approach to achieving climate neutrality. Thank you to MEP Christian Ehler and all ENZA members and participants for joining us.
