Delighted to have welcomed about 130 participants (90 in person and 40 online) at our third WIC meeting of the year at TNO (High Tech Campus, Eindhoven).
👉 As usual we combined an interesting agenda, with WIC news, two keynote speakers and a company visit.
➡ We started with welcoming our new members: EUROSEALINGS, Equinor, HKG shipping, James Walker, Kioz, NEUMAN & ESSER (NEA GROUP), SCK CEN, SHARP Composites, Valvesco, Westfalen AG, @Walter Tosto and Yokogawa
➡ Some recent members took the opportunity to present their hydrogen related activities to the WIC members. BOM (Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij), Chiyoda Corporation, KU Leuven, TES and Vopak
🎤 Our first Keynote speaker Jonathan van den Ham (of TNO) told us more about their innovative research on sunlight driven hydrogen production. The lab we could visit later on.
🎤 And second keynote peaker Hans De Neve of spin-off Carbyon presented us their innovative fast-swing Direct Air Capture technology. The startup has developed an innovative, patented technology to capture CO2 directly from the atmosphere. Their ‘fast swing’ technology significantly drives down unit, energy and project costs – critical criteria to facilitate large-scale deployment.
Virya Energy, Messer Technische Gase and Z.kracht – VEH told us a bit more about their cooperation HyOffWind, the 25MW hydrogen plant that will be built in in Zeebrugge. John Cockerill Hydrogen, BESIX and BESIX Environment N.V. are the technology partners for the design and the construction of the facility,
➡ After the inspiring speeches, our participants learned into more detail about the hydrogen activities of TNO (the Advanced Technology Applied to Electrolysis at Holst and some highlights of the TNO's impact publications) and they visited the lab “Solar-2-Hydrogen”- Materials Solutions
🥙 Finally, we closed with a great networking lunch, offered by TNO.
Thanks to all participants for the enthusiastic reactions and to TNO and especially to Nicole Meulendijks and Danielle Nelissen for being such an excellent host!!
