European network supporting the spread of the Housing First model as an effective response to homelessness
About us
The Housing First Europe Hub is a partnership of organisations, foundations, governments & experts that supports Housing First as a core response to homelessness in Europe. Housing First is an evidence-based model designed for people who need significant levels of help to enable them to leave homelessness. Using housing as a starting point rather than an end goal, and through the provision of intensive, flexible and person-centred support, 70-90% of Housing First residents are able to remain housed. Having a place to call home also leads to improvements in health and wellbeing, and reduces ineffective contact with costly public services.

Many thanks to Lars Seynaeve and Citi Brussels for hosting us in an important discussion on 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. It was a valuable opportunity to share best practices in Housing First for Women and to exchange insights on FEANTSA’s efforts in combatting women's homelessness thanks to the interventions of Dalma Fabian and Laura Fritz. Looking forward to continuing this conversation and driving change! #WomensHomelessness #Innovationchallenge
Reality check 👊 Rough sleepers, the people who sleep on the streets are only the tip if the iceberg when it comes to homelessness. Hidden homelessness is all around us and women are likely to experience it most, suffering gender-based violence, sofa-surfing and staying in unsafe conditions to avoid the streets. We invited our clients to meet Citi Foundation grantee FEANTSA and Housing First Europe Hub to learn about Homelessness and Women’s Homelessness in particular. 😔 Homeless women face some unique challenges (on top of being homeless): Sexual violence, fear of losing custody, sexual exploitation, inadequate gender-sensitive support, safety concerns in shelters… the list goes on. 🙏 I want to thank all attendees who unanimously agreed to continue this conversation and explore what we can do to support the organisations and the homeless people in our neighborhood.
