Updates

  • We're thrilled to announce our inaugural event as part of the UN Civil Society Conference program. 🌍 The Future of Global Governance: A Youth-Led Foresight Workshop 🌟 Wednesday 8 May at 2:00pm (GMT+3, Nairobi time) 🗓️ Mark your calendars and register here: https://lnkd.in/e4k5Ekqj 🎤 Cecilia Alemany, Iman Bashir, Matías Bianchi, and Larba Issa KOBYAGDA will set the stage from various viewpoints: UN agencies, governments, and civil society. You don't need to be an expert (nor a young person)! Together, we'll explore in this first space critical issues, build common ground, and strategize on the way forward for shaping intergenerational action framed under some pressing questions guiding our mission: 🔍 How can we ensure intergenerational citizen engagement in global governance? 🔍 How do we empower youth to advocate for and shape people-centered, co-owned, and future-oriented global institutional frameworks? 🔍 How can young people and youth organizations collaborate across regions to actively participate in the efforts behind international financial architecture reform, a pivotal intergenerational intervention point for better futures to emerge? We extend our gratitude to the School of International Futures (SOIF) for their unwavering support, as well as those behind the organization of such a milestone in the road towards the UN Summit of the Future: Carole Osero-Ageng'o, Nudhara Yusuf, and so many others!

  • 📣 Introducing the Intergenerational Center for Global Action (ICGA)! 🚀 Based in Brussels, our non-profit organization was founded by young people from Africa, Latin America, and Europe, all united by a shared mission: to shape visions and action for more inclusive, sustainable, and equitable futures across generations and regions. Our journey began with months of reflection, paperwork, and community building, culminating in our founding members finally meeting in person during the Wales Future Generations Forum held in Cardiff on April 30th and May 1st. Here a snapshot of this occasion as we embark on this journey together. 📸 At ICGA, we are dedicated to fostering global change through intergenerational and cross-regional collaboration. We are committed to bridging divides, embracing innovation, shaping co-owned and future-oriented institutions, and transforming global governance. Join us in this collective journey! Curious about how we turn our mission into action at ICGA? Stay tuned for our upcoming updates! Felipe Bosch, Lianne Guerra Rondón, Ph.D., Daouia Chalali, Alimi Salifou, Claudette Salinas Leyva
