| ISTO World Congress | 🌎 In 1994, International Social Tourism Organisation (ISTO) arrives in the Americas and starts expanding its network. 🎉  The #ISTOWorldCongress was an opportunity to discuss the context and the motivations leading to the arrival of ISTO in America in the presence of Louis Jolin, the first president of ISTO Americas, Charles-Etienne Belanger, Director of ISTO and first Director of ISTO Americas, Sonia Vaillancourt, Director of Conseil québécois du loisir CQL, member and key partner of ISTO Americas, Sergio Rodríguez Abitia, actual President of ISTO Americas and vincent berube from Auberges Saintlo Hostels. 🥳 Thank you to all the participants who attended this session! | Congrès mondial d’ISTO | 😃 Les participants ont passé un merveilleux moment le 21 octobre lors des différentes visites de terrain organisées dans le cadre des Expériences 360° de l’ADN d’ISTO pour le #CongrèsMondialISTO 2024 pour découvrir l'écosystème touristique de ce magnifique pays qu’est le Costa Rica 🇨🇷. 🎒🏞️ Alors que certains ont décidé de partir à la découverte des Trésors Naturels du #CostaRica, d'autres ont pu s'immerger dans l'Essence du Guanacaste et qu'un dernier groupe est parti explorer les merveilles des zones humides et de la forêt tropicale ! 💬 Toutes les visites ont été proposées avec interprétation en anglais et en espagnol. 😊 Nous sommes certains que tous les participants rapporteront de merveilleux souvenirs de ces voyages chez eux ! 😉 En route pour la deuxième journée ! 📸 Photos 1 et 2 : Tourisme communautaire à La Fortuna, parcours sensoriel et cuisine costaricienne, café et chocolat. 📸 Photos 3 et 4 : Visite, explication et expérience de plages adaptées aux personnes à mobilité réduite à Guanacaste. 📸 Photos 5 et 6 : Expérience d'écotourisme à Tortuguero, découverte du travail de conservation avec les gardes forestiers locaux et excursion en bateau. | ISTO World Congress | 😃 We will have the pleasure of welcoming Patrick Torrent, Executive Director of the Agència Catalana de Turisme / Catalan Tourist Board 🇪🇸 to the round table ‘Climate justice: no more living with our backs to the oceans’ on 24 October. 💯 Patrick Torrent played an active role in establishing the Catalan Tourism Board and defining the Strategic Tourism Plans of Catalonia. He has also been an associate professor at various universities and has organised various conferences, seminars and workshops specialising in tourism and tourism marketing.
