Our prototype NORA®, which was previously stationed on the roof of our headquarters in Olen, has now been relocated to its new home atop our Geel facility for the next phase of testing. 🏗️ This move represents yet another step toward transforming our innovative ideas into a market-ready product. NORAs are increasingly proving to be a game-changing alternative to traditional rotating radar systems, offering greater efficiency, reliability and affordability. And what about the roof in Olen? It won’t be empty for long. Big things are coming! 😉 #IntersoftElectronics #RadarTechnology #NORA #NonRotatingAntenna #FutureOfRadar Peter Verhoeven (Intersoft) Ioannis Kassotakis Jarne Van Grieken

💡 TIP OF THE WEEK The Radar Environment Simulator (RES®) presents a known reference environment to the radar on RF level. The simulated environment can include up to 2000 SSR or Mode-S targets, ADS-B, FRUIT, reflectors and antenna behavior. It allows a full data link to be tested to its extreme performance limits. 📈 RES® speeds up factory and site acceptance testing through generating simulated scenarios which are impossible to achieve with common signal generators. It avoids dependency of opportunity traffic and test flights. The unrivalled repeatability of tests is a valuable time-⏱️ and cost-saving 💰advantage of RES®. #IntersoftElectronics #RES #RadarEnvironmentSimulator #RadarTesting Glenn Bosmans Ellen Vander Cruyssen Domien De Ruyck Darren Gillam

PSRs remain a fundamental component of modern air traffic management systems, ensuring comprehensive coverage, enhancing safety, and supporting efficient airport operations. Their ability to operate independently of onboard aircraft systems makes them an indispensable tool for air traffic controllers in managing both routine and emergency situations. 🛫👨✈️ With the advances in cooperative CNS technologies such as SSR, ADS-B, MLAT and satellite navigation, R&D in primary radar for civil aviation has stagnated somewhat. However, this technological backlog is being made up. 🔄 Modular building blocks are available to bring legacy systems up to date and to integrate new high-tech ASR systems. ⚙️📡 👉 Read more about revolutionizing ASR design here: https://lnkd.in/ght7n5xQ #IntersoftElectronics #NGSP #PSR #SSR #CNS Jeroen Verlinden Filip Anthoni Bram Faes Jan van Gent

Intersoft Electronics explores Limburg 🚶♂️🚶♀️ At the beginning of October, we treated our team to a sunny outing in Belgian and Dutch Limburg. ☀️ In the morning, we explored the underground tunnel system of the Kanne Caves, where limestone was mined for centuries. After lunch, we set off on our afternoon tour of Maastricht. Along the way, we were treated to stories from our guides, as well as delicious wine, chocolate and traditional Limburgse vlaai (flan). 🍷🍫🍰 To wrap up the day, we enjoyed a three-course dinner. The perfect ending to a day filled with culture, good food and great company. #IntersoftElectronics #Teambuilding #Limburg Elke Vanuytven Davy Anthonissen Senne Geys Wim Branders Janice Verdegem Jasmien Adriaensen

💡 TIP OF THE WEEK Apart from the technical features of Non-Rotating Arrays (NORA®), the reduced maintenance cost may be their most valuable benefit. 💵 Maintaining rotary joints and miscellaneous components represent a considerable part of the preventive maintenance on radar systems. Those maintenance tasks also include shutting down the system. So they have an operational impact and cost. Moreover, this generates a constant waste stream of lubricating oil and grease. ✈️ Because there are no rotating parts in NORAs, they simply don't have these issues and related costs. #IntersoftElectronics #NORA #NonRotating #Radar #RadarTechnology Bram Faes Ioannis Kassotakis Stef Vancampenhout Yoeri Arien Trevor Froggatt Dirk Adams

NORAs are becoming a technologically and economically interesting alternative for rotating radar antennas. Non-Rotating Arrays have transitioned from exotic and very expensive military systems to affordable and reliable products for civil aviation. ✈️ 🔧The non-rotating design eliminates the mechanical wear and tear that rotating systems experience, relaxing maintenance requirements and extending operational lifetime. This results in less downtime and reduced maintenance costs. And that's just the obvious benefit. Moving from a mechanical rotation to an electronic rotation brings even more opportunities. Alongside the regularly scanned operation volume of airspace from a single surveillance beam, NORAs can have additional beams, such as a second surveillance beam. That permits double the dwell time for increased detection capability but maintaining the update interval. Alternatively maintaining the original update interval of a single surveillance beam with a second beam scanning at the same rate. Due to the back-to-back nature of operation the combined update interval would be halved. Or having a single surveillance beam and a second ‘tracking’ beam with the ability to have much more ‘time-on target’ for several targets of interest such as small or slow targets or highly maneuvering targets. And, last but not least, NORA® integrates the transmitter power electronics in the antenna itself. 🪫That reduces power losses and permits to cover the same surveillance volume with less power or extend the coverage volume. 👉 Curious about the latest advancements in ASR design? Discover how innovations like modular systems and NORA® are transforming air traffic management. 📰 Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/eK8yZhEx #IntersoftElectronics #RadarSystems #TechnologyInnovation #NORA Peter Verhoeven (Intersoft) Stef Vancampenhout Yoeri Arien Ioannis Kassotakis
