Love this new infographic! It clearly explains how #probiotics help in strenghthen the #gutbarrier and enhance body defences! #ipaeurope #ipa George Paraskevakos Rosanna Pecere
🛡️ Why is the #gutbarrier essential for our health? The gut barrier plays a vital role in maintaining overall well-being by acting as a selective filter, allowing nutrients to pass through while keeping harmful microbes out. When disrupted, it can trigger immune reactions and inflammation, leading to a range of autoimmune disorders, including gastrointestinal diseases like Crohn’s disease and systemic conditions such as Type 1 diabetes. Want to learn more about how to protect the gut barrier and support your immune system? This infographic breaks it down! 💡 Share with your community and help raise awareness about the vital role of the gut in our health! https://lnkd.in/dV-FMuM4

We can summarise that #probiotic #prebiotic microorganisms are your gut's personal bodyguards! Thank you #eufic
🌍🦠 On #WorldMicrobiomeDay, let's explore the fascinating world of #prebiotics and #probiotics! This article, in collaboration with researchers from the #HumanMicrobiomeAction project, shows the difference between these two commonly confused components and highlights their role in our #guthealth. 🥗 Prebiotics aka the "food for your gut bacteria" are non-digestible fibres and can promote a higher diversity of your microbiome. They are often found in foods like beans, grains, vegetables, and fruits. 🦠 Probiotics are live microorganisms that provide health benefits when consumed in adequate amounts. 🥛 Fermented Foods like yoghurt, kefir, and sauerkraut contain live microorganisms that can enhance gut health by an increased diversity and improved immune responses. What is your favorite prebiotic food? Let us know in the comments below! Discover additional insights in the full article 🔗https://lnkd.in/ehNacJN8

The Joint Statement has been released! #IPAEurope, the European Probiotic Association representing companies involved in the manufacture of probiotic cultures, probiotic foods, and supplements—along with 17 other signatories, is calling for greater ambition and the implementation of the EC Initiative: Boosting Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing in the EU. The Initiative recognizes various challenges and barriers, including the need for a level playing field for market entry and demand.Currently, the lack of a harmonized approach to fermentation technology using food cultures prevents the full realization of its potential to contribute to a sustainable food system. 📢 Urgent action is required to remove bottlenecks that currently hinder commercialization and place European companies at a competitive disadvantage. A key step in addressing these issues is streamlining and aligning regulatory pathways. This is especially true for probiotic microorganisms. Achieving harmonization would significantly reduce burdens for companies and improve the competitiveness of the European industry! #IPA #probiotics #microbiote #beneficialmicroorganisms

Check out the recently published position paper from EuropaBio - the European Association for Bioindustries and the 17 other signatories highlighting five core principles that should underpin the goals for Europe’s approach to #biotechnology and #biomanufacturing. Today we focus in on the third principle, “Unlock the full potential of Europe’s Single Market for biotechnology processes and biomanufacturing, including for people, goods, services, and capital.” ➡️ Read the rest of the principles here https://lnkd.in/e9-22rRs
