But what does SOTIF mean by a 'driving scenario'? 🛣 According to 𝐒𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐅, a scenario is a detailed description of the sequence of scenes and events a vehicle may encounter. It’s not just about static conditions like weather or road type but includes dynamic interactions with other road users, the vehicle's goals, and its responses. 🚀 Euro NCAP and IVEX are advancing On-road Evaluation for vehicle testing 🚀 I am personally touched by the opportunity to work with the people at Euro NCAP - For Safer Cars, Vans & Trucks, an institution I deeply admire. Their commitment to help countries around Europe to achieve their 'Vision Zero' target and end traffic-related fatalities is inspiring. For several years, vehicle evaluation has been done mainly in labs and test tracks. With modern technology this evaluation can be hugely complemented with real road driving, enabling an even better understanding of vehicle safety. IVEX and Euro NCAP - For Safer Cars, Vans & Trucks are defining new on-road evaluation protocols which will become part of official passenger car evaluation as early as 2026. Power Mobility Confidence Index, in collaboration with the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics, reveals signs of growing consumer confidence in self-driving vehicles. After a two-year decline, the index’s score for consumer readiness for autonomous vehicles (AV) has increased by 2 points, reaching 39 on a 100-point scale—the same level in 2022.
