Here it is: the exciting full program for the second edition of the LUSI - KU Leuven Urban Studies Institute Research Day, planned for Friday, April 4th, 2025!
The central topic of the event will be 'Positionality and Reflexivity in Urban Studies Research’
Join us for one of the major LUSI events of the academic year, which will include:
✅ An inspiring panel discussion with three experts on the topic - David Mwambari, professor at Faculty of Social Sciences KU Leuven; Shila Anaraki, researcher in the Innoviris funded ATLAS-project (atlas-bxl.eu); and Manuel Aalbers, professor at KU Leuven - Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. The panel will be moderated by Luce Beeckmans, professor at Faculty of Engineering, KU Leuven
✅ An urban studies poster session giving a broader overview of the exciting and high quality urban studies research that is being conducted at our university and by our academic partners attending the event
✅ Three afternoon workshops (how positionality impacts your research, by David Mwambari, PhD; The use of AI tools for searching scientific literature, by Chayenne Van Meel; Systems of power and intersectionality, by Stephanie Collingwoode Williams (she/they))
✅ A closing reception which includes the announcement of the winners of the LUSI Dissertation Award 2024 🏆

We welcome researchers (professors, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students) affiliated to LUSI, but also colleagues working in other fields (and at other universities) who are interested in this event are welcome to attend!
