Loved bringing creativity, community & conscious craftsmanship together for IKEA 🧵 Last month, I had the honor to host a group of talented creatives for a weaving workshop with IKEA! Together, we transformed my atelier into a vibrant, spacious oasis and brought the art of weaving to life. This workshop was all about celebrating MÄVINN: IKEA’s Social Entrepreneur collection, handcrafted with natural fibers in collaboration with artisans and social businesses across Asia. More than just beautiful home accessories, each piece creates jobs and drives social impact. A collection close to my heart and hopefully yours too. 💛 Discover the new MÄVINN editions in July 2025 and January 2026! In a nutshell: since 2012, IKEA has been forming long-term partnerships with social businesses worldwide, supporting them in their effort to provide work for people in vulnerable communities. By connecting social businesses to our value chain, we’re able to offer customers something truly special: unique, handcrafted home accessories made by skilled artisans. And what better way to introduce our Social Entrepreneurship initiative and resulting MÄVINN collection than hosting a weaving workshop at the atelier of local artist Julie Van den Meutter. Tailored Thursdays, we brought together the Dutch hip-hop and fashion scene in a unique series of events, powered by Complex. 🎤👖 Each edition had its own vibe: Edition 1: Focused on hip-hop, featuring Jiri11, Reanny, and DJ Claire Lyons. Guests embraced the double denim dress code, and key creatives styled their looks in advance. Edition 2: A soulful R&B night with Gaidaa, Kaya Imani, and DJ Nathifa Efia, plus customization booths where attendees personalized their Levi’s® pieces. Edition 3: A special Levi’s® 501 Day celebration, gifting guests the iconic denim, featuring Afrobeats artists JMANI and Yxng Le, and a summer barbecue in the Levi’s® courtyard. This project was about more than just fashion—it was about amplifying emerging talent, creating authentic connections, and shaping culture.
