Do you know where your window frames end up once discarded? 🔍 First, they head towards a collection centre where bulky PVC waste is collected and chopped into 1.5-meter pieces. Any non-plastic parts (like metals) are then removed with a 🧲 large magnet at a sorting centre and the PVC is shredded into smaller pieces. Recession hits the EU's plastic recycling industry ⚠️ In early 2024, the plastics recycling sector already warned about difficult market conditions with no interim prospects of recovery. Ten months later, the same issues continue suffocating the EU's plastic recycling industry: a lack of demand for EU recyclates, reduced investments, and an increase in imports of recyclates from outside the EU. Ton Emans, Plastics Recyclers Europe’s President, said, “This situation undermines the progress and investments made to improve recycling processes.
