Last Friday, our new headquarters opened its office doors for the first time and our employees were able to experience the new company restaurant. 🤩 In the meantime, we’re still working on the final touches to the exterior 💪, including constructing the parking area. We recently organized an inspiring technology forum about the deburring robots we use at Proferro. 🤩🤖   Around 30 colleagues attended the internal event 👨🏫 where they got to discover more about the operation, programming, and benefits offered by these robots that play such a crucial role in the mechanical finishing of castings, supplementing the manual grinding process. ⚙ With their ability to cut, mill, and grind, they ensure that any excess cast iron is removed in an efficient way. 💪   Be sure to check out some of the pictures from both sessions below. 📸   #proferro #workingatproferro #innovation #readyforthefuture

Joining hands for charity! 🤝 We recently organized several activities in order to raise money for De Warmste Week (the warmest week), 🔥 which is an annual national initiative that assists several good causes. And it was topped off with the Winterhappening at our headquarters in Ieper, which took place last week! ✨ The money raised will be donated to projects in Belgium fighting against solitude. Our commitment to sustainability at Proferro begins with our processes. 🧐📚 Therefore, we continuously invest in advanced technologies that allow us to be more energy efficient. 🌍 One of the ways we realize this is by saving energy on the extraction process of our cupola furnace. Our extraction system consists of a turbine that is coupled to an electric motor that draws exhaust gases and fine dust from the cupola furnace, which prevents them from entering the atmosphere. 👍 Meanwhile, a frequency converter varies the speed of the motor according to several measurements. This results in reduced emissions of fine dust as well as energy savings of approximately 60% on the extraction process compared to a motor without a frequency converter. 👌 #proferro #sustainability #readyforthefuture

At Proferro, we leverage the power of MAGMASOFT for daily virtual trials, which helps us optimize the design and quality of our castings. 👌🖥 This advanced simulation software enables our engineers to model and analyze the entire casting process in advance – from mold filling to solidification. And this applies both to existing parts and new projects. 💡   With MAGMASOFT, we’re able to accurately predict mechanical properties and pinpoint the location and dimensions of porosities in our parts. 🧐 These simulations not only boost our efficiency but also significantly help in terms of cutting costs by reducing the need to carry out physical tests. 🤩   #proferro #workingatproferro #readyforthefuture

💡 At Proferro, besides being experts at producing cast iron parts, we’re also masters of precision machining! ⚙ Our dedicated machining department puts the finishing touches on our cast iron parts, which ensures top-notch quality. 👌 Whether it’s prototyping or serial work, we excel in diverse technologies such as CNC machining, gear cutting, grinding, heat treatment 🔥, and welding.
