This AML package consists of various pieces of legislation, including AMLR, AMLD6, and AMLAR. SFDR 2.0: Major Changes Ahead The SFDR is not part of the Omnibus proposal! However, a significant change is on the agenda: in 2025, the European Commission will undertake a comprehensive revision of the SFDR. Many financial institutions currently misuse SFDR classifications as a sustainability label to market their products, rather than as a transparency tool. This creates confusion among investors. To address this issue, the Platform on Sustainable Finance proposes a new approach: shifting from classifications to categorisation. The goal? A clearer and more transparent framework The proposed categories: 🌳 Sustainable 🔁 Transition 🌱 ESG-Collection The Platform has analysed how the current SFDR classifications align with these new categories. The proposed ambition level for SFDR is high—but will it remain that way? We are closely monitoring developments around SFDR 2.0 and the impact of the Omnibus proposal.
