Marie-José Borst, our General Manager and the Public Health Task Force lead at pharma.be, delivered a closing speech at their event on home hospitalisation today. ➡️ We have the right foundations: the organisational, budgetary, and regulatory frameworks are in place, ready to support home hospitalisation. ➡️ Huge untapped potential: Despite its benefits, home hospitalisation is underutilised. There is significant potential to improve patient care by expanding these services ➡️ Collaboration is essential: To make home hospitalisation a reality, we need to work together across the healthcare system—connecting hospitals, primary care, nurses, and patients. Marie José used the metaphors of 'islands' and 'integration' to emphasise the current gaps in our healthcare system and the need for cohesive collaboration. By bridging these gaps, we can create a seamless healthcare experience for patients in Belgium. #HomeHospitalisation #thuishospitalisatie #hospitalisationadomicile

Last week we wrapped up our Patient Week—a week dedicated to deepening our commitment to patient centricity. 🙌 A big thank you to our speakers for their invaluable insights and to all our colleagues for your passion and commitment to making healthcare better for everyone. 💙 As the topic was about “how data save lives”, we retain two catchy quotes from our speakers: "Show me what you measure and I will tell you what you care about." : if we are serious about improving healthcare, we need robust data systems that can track progress and adapt over time. Stefan Gijssels Patient Expert Center "Not using health data is like working in a bakery without a weighing scale." Karen Crabbé pharma.be emphasised that data is central to all healthcare partners: it empowers patients with knowledge about their disease, helps healthcare professionals track history and benchmark patients, enables authorities to make better-informed decisions, and drives innovation and new treatments in the industry—all contributing to improved patient outcomes. Let’s carry the spirit of Patient Week into our everyday work, ensuring every voice is heard and every patient is valued. What could the future of #healthcare in Luxembourg look like? 🇱🇺 Two weeks ago Roche joined healthcare leaders at #HealthcareWeekLuxembourgto explore this very question. Our team, enriched by insightful discussions and keynotes, identified two major themes shaping any patient-centric healthcare system of the future: ➡️ A stronger emphasis on prevention—with earlier detection leading to better treatment outcomes. ➡️ The need to fully harness health data and digitalisation—not only to improve patient outcomes but to build the robust data foundation necessary for unlocking AI’s potential in healthcare. We also connected with our colleagues at IML Innovative Medicines for Luxembourg and took the opportunity to congratulate Romain Labé on his appointment as General Secretary! A big thank you to Fédération des Hôpitaux Luxembourgeois for hosting such a fantastic event. 🔍 Want to dive deeper?
