Today, Cofinimmo hosted a new ESG Academy session. The topic of the day was how can we increase the water efficiency of our portfolio? Gregoire de Hemptinne from Shayp gave us an inspirational lecture on smart water management, leak detection and waste reduction. He introduces the real-time water flow analytics and non-invasive technology developed by his company to help reduce and prevent customer-side leakages. 88.000 € économisés grâce à une détection rapide de fuite d'eau ! 💧 Durant l'été, Shayp a détecté une fuite de 16 m³/heure dans une maison de retraite. Sans notre monitoring automatisé, cette fuite serait passée inaperçue jusqu'à la réception d'une facture d'eau très élevée, car elle concernait un système défaillant situé sous terre, relié au système de traitement de l'eau de l'établissement. La fuite a pu être réparée en quelques heures, évitant ainsi non seulement des coûts importants mais aussi un impact environnemental considérable. 🔔 Cela nous rappelle que de nombreuses fuites d'eau dans les bâtiments sont invisibles mais évitables avec un système de détection des fuites. 384m3 of water leaking into a building per day 💦 Yes, that’s reality: Just last week we could prevent an elderly home from severe water damage! How? Simple: having had installed shayp already, we were able to detect a leak causing water waste as big as 16m3 per hour, which would sum up to 384m3 per day. The good news? We were able to detect the faulty underground system within their water softener system. If it wasn’t for shayp, this wouldn’t have been found for months to come! And well, 384m3 x 30 days x?months …well we don’t want to go there. Thanks to Shayp's real-time monitoring they were able to fix it in just a few hours and keep under control the cost associated to the leak. Intrigued to learn more?
