Keep growing with long partnership collaboration!   The story between Airbus and Sonaca began 45 years ago with the development, qualification and production of A310 slats. Today, this partnership goes on with the certification of Airbus last one, the A321XLR. Building on Walloon’s strengths ! Sonaca teams in partnership with ROVI-TECH S.A. sa and Desimone SA have developed an automated inspection cell with the support of Région wallonne. This innovation will be equipped with cameras for the inspection of our slats. Thanks to 6 years of R&T research, this unique tool will help us to objectify and provide a clear mapping of all defects. This innovation boils down in heavily integrating multiple composite part co-cured in one single step! Our teams have demonstrated this technology for a whole set of control surfaces from preliminary design to manufacturing and certification. While significantly reducing recurrent costs thanks to combination of both lay-up automation and assembly time decrease, this mature technology provides prominent weight savings and outstanding quality.
