Reinventing Orthopedics

About us

At Spentys we are striving to revolutionize the orthopedic immobilization devices industry by shifting from traditional processes to ones containing 3D scanning, 3D modelling and 3D printing technologies. We are working with the various healthcare providers to achieve this goal. Our mission is to bring the value of mass customization to the orthopedic environment. To do this, Spentys has developed and clinically tested 3D printed immobilization devices (casts, splints...) on various limbs including arms, foots, fingers, elbows… Moreover, with our 3-step solution centralized on a web platform we can give access to the value of these technologies to medical players in less than 1 day.

In our latest report, we spoke with key players from the O&P industry who are utilizing 3D printing and digital technologies. Ayelen Fernandez, HP's O&P/Healthcare segment manager, discussed the added value 3D printing brings to O&P, particularly the devices' customizable and scalable aspects. She noted that education is vital, but to achieve this, rigorous testing should be conducted to prove the benefits of 3D printing with demonstrable data. However, she has seen a huge uptake in 3D printing across the industry in recent years: “The industry is moving far faster than we expected. For example, if you attended different O&P conferences/shows like OTWorld - International Trade Show & World Congress five years ago, you may have only seen a few 3D printed parts, whereas more recently, around 80% of the booths are showcasing them.” 👉 Read more about her experiences, and dive into the full report by downloading it here: https://bit.ly/3S1vuGZ

Nigel Birkett, Operations Manager at Blatchford UK, spoke about his organization’s experience with 3D technology. Thanks to these technologies, Blatchford has been able to save time, be more sustainable, and be more accurate in production. He emphasized the need to take the leap and just go for it when implementing digital technology: “We use the analogy of jumping ship – once you are off, you can’t get back on, you just have to keep swimming. Yes, you will have some issues, there will be some choppy water, but you push through that.” Discover the insights from Nigel Birkett and other industry partners in our comprehensive report, ‘Digitalization in O&P: Navigating the Future Together.’ Their experiences can serve as valuable lessons for your organization's digital transformation journey.
