    ❓How does #Toyota strategically position itself in today's challenging automotive industry❓ Timothy D'Herde, Head of R&D Powertrain had the pleasure of sharing the essence of our #MultiPath strategy at Great Mobility Day 2024, the Nordics' largest conference of its kind hosted by Dagens Industri.  👉In Europe, our ambition is to reach #CarbonNeutrality by 2040 through 3 key milestones: 1️⃣ Plants & corporate facilities by 2030 2️⃣ -100% CO2 from new vehicles by 2035 3️⃣ Purchased goods, services & logistics by 2040.🎯  👉Our multi-path approach to vehicle technologies is at the ❤️ of this mission. Battery electric, fuel cell, plug-in hybrid and hybrid - we're exploring every avenue to reduce carbon emissions including diverse fuels for internal combustion engines, such as carbon-neutral fuels and hydrogen.🔎  👉Why this approach? Because carbon is our enemy, not a specific powertrain. We need to reduce carbon emissions as much as possible, as soon as possible, everywhere in the world. ⏰  👉It would be great if everyone could afford to replace carbon-emitting vehicles with zero-carbon alternatives immediately. But, not all the countries and regions are ready to shift to battery electric vehicles. And, there are 1.25 billion internal combustion engine cars on 🌍.   👉No one should be left behind. We're committed to providing practical and sustainable mobility solutions for everyone. 👩👩👧👧  👉A testament to this approach: 75% of our total European sales are electrified models: hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery electric & fuel cell electric. Toyota and Lexus outperformed the market with all-time record sales of 912,671 vehicles in the first 9 months of 2024. Numbers speak for themselves: we are meeting diverse customer needs.👌  👉Looking ahead, we're ready to offer around 15 zero-emission models by 2026. By 2030, we anticipate at least 50% of our vehicle mix will be zero-emission based on regulation requirements and a wide line-up. Toyota will be ready to achieve 100% CO2 reduction in all new vehicles by 2035 in Western Europe, assuming all enablers will be in place.🔭  👉We are also developing hydrogen #FuelCell technology as a zero-emission option. This summer in Paris, our fuel cell vehicles, from cars to trucks, generated a demand of over 17 tons of hydrogen, showing hydrogen mobility can grow with the right balance of vehicles and supply. 🚙💧 👉Future is something we create together. To achieve our goals, collaboration is key.     To celebrate building our five millionth car in the UK – a Corolla, Toyota (GB) plc invited the children of the Burnaston factory employees to compare it with the first car made at the factory in 1992 – a Carina E. The results are both surprising and delightful! Hosted by children’s TV presenter Grace Webb, the video features 9 to 12-year-olds undertaking a series of fun challenges, comparing the #Corolla hatchback with the Carina E hatchback. From keyless entry to cloud-based navigation and Spotify integration, the kids explore how cars have evolved over the past 32 years. Key Highlights: 🔐 Entering the Car: ·      Team A used a traditional car key to unlock the Carina E, which took several minutes. ·      Team B used the My Toyota smartphone app for keyless entry, accomplished in seconds. 🗺️ Navigating to a Theme Park: ·      Team A struggled with a fold-out map inside the Carina E. ·      Team B used the Corolla’s ‘Hey Toyota’ voice command system for quick navigation. 📼 Playing Music for a Road Trip: ·      Team A had trouble identifying and using a cassette tape. ·      Team B paired Spotify with the Corolla through their smartphone Isn't it amazing to see how much technology has changed the way we experience driving? ✨ #Toyota #Corolla #KidsReviewCars #Innovation #Automotive #Technology #Throwback

    We are excited to announce that #Toyota has reached a major milestone with the production of our five millionth car in the UK – a #Corolla GR Sport Hatchback hybrid! 🎉  ➡️ Toyota is celebrating this incredible achievement at our Burnaston plant in Derbyshire. This milestone model underscores Burnaston's role as a key player in Toyota’s European manufacturing network and the UK automotive sector. ➡️ Burnaston was the first Toyota facility outside Japan to produce hybrid vehicles and continues to be a centre of excellence for this technology. Today, 100% of its production is hybrid.  ➡️ The Corolla nameplate has appeared on more vehicles worldwide than any other, with over 50 million sold to date. ❗🎉 Now in its 12th generation, the current Corolla continues to uphold the quality, durability, and reliability that have contributed to its success.   ➡️ The UK plays a significant role in Toyota’s European operations. Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK directly employs around 3,000 people and many thousands more indirectly.     💡 Here's a story of collaboration, innovation, and driving advancements in #MobilityforAll. 🦽 Back in 2021, Cedric Borremans, Head of the Olympic and Paralympic Division, discovered a young startup with an inspiring origin story. Colin GALLOIS, one of its founders, witnessed a manual wheelchair user burn their hands while braking downhill. 🏅 This sparked the idea to create the first wheelchair braking solution, giving more mobility and independence to wheelchair users. For Cédric, it was clear – EPPUR was the perfect partner to showcase Toyota's Mobility for All vision at the Paralympic Games Paris 2024. 🚴♂️ In our collaboration with Eppur, we helped the startup get early feedback from initial users, including Para athletes. We validated their invention – the first-ever braking system for manual wheelchairs, Dreeft, and built a case to use it during the Paris 2024 Games. 🔗 Curious to know more?
