The starting signal has been given! 🎉 Our opening plenary was one big celebration of the progress in using #biology across industries, and of the possibilities in addressing global challenges. To showcase some of Belgium’s most promising #agrifood start-ups, we invited seasoned investors and entrepreneurs to this #KfG2024 agrifood investor #pitch, organized by flanders.bio and biotope by VIB. Thanks to pitch presenters Chiara Guidi (B-COS), Rob Lavigne (Landman.bio), Dimitri Verweire (SLIM by VIB), Giacomo Bastianelli (Rainbow Crops), Bart Dooms (B³ET), Johan Jacobs ( FlyBlast), Wendy Ossieur (I-Challenge) and Sander Steenacker (OceanBites.eu) for presenting their technology, market opportunity and business model. Special appreciation goes out to speakers Benjamin Laga (Protealis) and Ilana Taub (Bolder Foods), and to moderators Kim Hertegonne (flanders.bio) and Annick Verween (biotope by VIB). How to get to #KfG2024? Here’s your essential guide for tomorrow! The Flanders Meeting & Convention Center (FMCCA) is centrally located in the city of Antwerp (Belgium), right next to Antwerp Central Station. We strongly encourage visitors to come to the event using sustainable modes of #transport. 𝗕𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 🚆 There are smooth connections by high-speed trains with major cities. A train journey from Brussels International Airport (#Zaventem) takes about 30 minutes. 𝗕𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝘀 🚍 Over twenty tram and bus routes stop within 250 metres from the venue. The nearest tram and bus stop is #Antwerp Central Station, but the #Rooseveltplaats stop is also within walking distance. 𝗕𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗼 🚇 The nearest metro stations are Premetrostation #Astrid and Premetrostation #Diamant. 𝗕𝘆 𝗯𝗶𝗸𝗲 🚲 You can easily reach Antwerp via the bicycle highways, or you can make use of the bike-sharing concept #Velo, with parking facilities at 100 and 250 metres from the venue. 𝗕𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗿 🚘 Avoid the city centre and use one of nine Park & Ride sites surrounding Antwerp. If you do decide to enter the centre, check if your car is allowed to enter the Low Emission Zone (#LEZ).
