How to spend public resources efficiently and effectively on education? 💰👨🏫 Every year, governments in the European Union together spend some €746 billion on education in all its forms (source: Eurostat 👉 https://lnkd.in/eqjNzpsd). Despite these significant investments however, educational quality in some EU countries is stagnating. For some indicators, it even deteriorates. What’s more, little scientific knowledge exists today on how to invest scarce public resources in education as efficiently and (cost-)effectively as possible. The EFFEct Project under #HorizonEurope, coordinated by KU Leuven professor Kristof De Witte, aims to change that. The multidisciplinary research project will uncover the do’s and don’ts in education policy, based on data. A unique approach that will focus on all levels of education. KU Leuven still leads the pack among universities in #HorizonEurope! 🥇 Halfway into the European Commission’s key funding program for research and innovation, our university is the top grant recipient among higher education institutions with €247 million in grants for 418 projects, of which we coordinate 176 projects.
