Space Challenges introduces Celestia, one of our dedicated satellite teams, who embraced the challenge of developing a camera orientation monitoring system for satellites. Here’s an overview of their journey during the program: Week 1: The team detailed their project and initiated the design of the camera’s mounting and movement mechanisms, including creating electrical schematics for integration Week 2: They formulated a comprehensive plan, dividing their efforts into two primary tasks: mechanical fabrication and electrical assembly Week 3: The cadets integrated the camera module with the onboard computer, tested its image capture capabilities, and installed the servo and step motors for precise camera control Week 4: In their final week, the team rigorously tested and validated their prototype, completed the design documentation, and presented their solution to the EnduroSat team, including a review by our founder and CEO, Raycho Raychev and our CTO Victor Danchev 🌍️

Introducing Crop Watch, one of our dedicated Endurance teams, who took on the challenge of developing an AI-driven crop health monitoring system. Here’s an overview of their journey during the program: Week 1: The team outlined their initiative and started designing a tool to analyze satellite imagery for assessing crop health Week 2: They established a strategic plan, breaking the task into two main components: aerial image classification and ground-level image analysis Week 3: The cadets deployed machine learning algorithms to exclude poor-quality images and pinpoint areas of where crop fields exist. Additionally, they trained a model to evaluate crop health and validated their work with real satellite images of crops Week 4: In their concluding week, the team tested and verified their models, finished the design documentation, and presented their innovative solution to our EnduroSat team, featuring a review by our CTO Victor Danchev, and by founder and CEO, Raycho Raychev 🛰️

Introducing Medium AI, one of our Endurance teams, tasked with creating an AI-powered fire detection and prevention system. Here’s a look at their journey through the bootcamp Week 1: The team scoped their project and began designing a solution to process satellite images of forests to detect fire risk. Week 2: They developed an action plan, dividing the challenge into two key areas: onboard image classification and ground image processing. Week 3: The cadets implemented machine learning models to filter out cloudy images and identify smoke and fire. They also trained a model to assess fire risk in forest satellite images. Week 4: In their final week, the team validated their models, completed design documentation, and pitched their solution to our EnduroSat team, including our founder and CEO, Raycho Raychev. Well done, Medium AI! #SpaceChallenges #Bootcamp2024 #Gela #EnduroSat
