Having lived in 10 countries on 4 continents, Petya Rasheva has met many prominent business leaders over the years. She is now approaching them with a question. What is their story? What has been critical in their path to power.
Let's learn from the best!
The podcast was initiated as a study project during Petya's time at Stanford LEAD, but gained a life of its own. The podcast has become a powerful coaching tool for career development and self-awareness.
Episode 23: Sonja Betschart, the co-founder and co-pilot of WeRobotics, talks to Petya Rasheva about her #PathToPower.
With WeRobotics and the Flying Labs Network, Sonja’s social impact spans 40+ countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia and beyond. She was recently selected by Forbes as one of the 50 over 50 most influential women across Europe Middle East and Africa.
Sonja was approached by Petya following the announcement of the Forbes’ recognition earlier in 2024. Sonja is the 4th lady from Forbes’s list for EMEA to participate in The Path To Power Podcast.
In 2015, Sonja’s WeRobotics journey as a social entrepreneur began. Her vision: to support and connect local experts in drone, data, and AI technologies. Eight years after, her team is collaborating on numerous projects in Disaster, Climate, Education, Agriculture, Conservation and Health on the 3 continents.
🛩 It takes more courage and self-confidence to share power than to exercise it by yourself. Sonja is not afraid to share power with her team and enjoys the benefits from it.
🐲 It is not the one who talks the loudest who gets the most influence. It’s the one who understands best the needs and the value that can be created.
🧘♀️ As a startup founder, you swim against the current, and it’s hard. You are responsible for other people – your team, your customers, your partners. You need to ground, take a good care of yourself, and stay calm.
How does she do it?

In Episode 22, Adhi Mustopo, the CEO of MMS Solutions, part of MMS GROUP INDONESIA, talks to Petya Rasheva about his #PathToPower.
Adhi Mustopo, or Pak Adhi (“Pak” stays for a fusion of “Older brother” with “Mister” in Bahasa Indonesia) has helped building one of Indonesia's unicorns, and is currently leading the company through an ambitious multi-billion dollar project.
The Nickel Project is where Petya and Adhi met. Petya spent 4 months in Jakarta under his leadership.
MMS Solutions is a multi-portfolio company with interests in metallurgy, power and agriculture, with locations spread throughout Indonesia. Adhi led the company from a start-up through scale-up, to the billion-dollar business which it is now. He still remembers the time when the whole staff would fit into a single open office.
⛵ Adhi is a strategic planner. His eyes are on the big picture, his focus on the long term.
⛵ For Pak Adhi, a company is like a ship. You need to make it seaworthy. You need to equip it. You need to staff it and create a team. You navigate. And gradually, the ship can start sailing without you.
Indonesia is a very diverse country. It is a home to different ethnicities, religions, languages. This is the 3rd largest democracy in the world, and the biggest Muslim country. What does it take to be a successful leader there?

Heiko talks about his 2 missions as a COO: achieving operational excellence, and organic growth.
💬 An important task of the C-suite is the alignment of the many stakeholders.
💬 To form “One Team, One Goal” requires great team building skills and a lot of communication.
💬 You will hit roadblocks. The time you need to overcome them will define your success.
