Highlights from the FS Horizons event under the theme of "Doubling Down on Finance" hosted today at the Four Seasons Hotel, Bahrain Bay. The event featured a keynote speech by H.E. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB and a fireside chat with H.E. Khalid Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain. The event also included a series of panel discussions focused on the latest developments across payments, regulatory technology, and Bahrain's outlook for the financial services sector.

In collaboration with the Central Bank of Bahrain, Bahrain EDB hosted the inaugural exclusive event titled “FS Horizons: Doubling Down on Finance” at the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. The event gathered more than 100 stakeholders from the financial services sector and C-suite executives from private and public sectors to discuss the growth trajectory of the industry.

Recognising the importance of fintech for achieving financial inclusion, governments and regulators are playing a crucial role in encouraging fintech innovation. In particular, the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has been instrumental in rolling out forward-looking regulations that have attracted global players and given rise to fintech companies. Bahrain EDB participated in the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2024: Next Frontiers for Growth in Dalian, People's Republic of China. During the event, Ali AlMudaifa, Chief of Business Development at Bahrain EDB took part in a panel titled "Beyond Capital: Navigating the Investor - Entrepreneur Relationship" discussing the key factors that contribute to successful partnerships.

In celebration of the successful commencement of its new state-of-the-art facility, Konexus Aluminium International WLL (KAI) showcased its cutting-edge technology, advanced processes and skilled local workforce in the production of #MadeinBahrain aluminium products. As part of #TeamBahrain, the Bahrain EDB, Ministry of Industry & Commerce, and Tamkeen have supported KAI in the setup of its USD 100 million plant earlier this year with further plans for expansion beyond aluminium production – a testament to Bahrain’s thriving manufacturing sector and standing as a leading export hub to international markets. 

In collaboration with HBS Club of the GCC, and in the presence of Minister of Sustainable Development and Bahrain EDB's Chief Executive, H.E. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Bahrain EDB hosted the first Harvard Think Tank series in Bahrain on the topic of "Local Talent: Global Reach - Bahrain: A Hub for Talent". The event hosted H.E Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, as the guest of honor for a fireside chat discussing Bahrain's talent development strategy.
