A really ambitious and left-field project by BL,DS that absolutely succeeds. Each track offers a unique little world that I want to exist in for longer. Wonderful stuff.

A FEW NOTES:
All pre-orders included a PC formatted floppy, featuring all elements needed to play these songs back via Super MIDI Pak cart in combination with an MPC Live. Floppy disks were only available during the one-week pre-order and were limited to one per physical mailing address. These are no longer available.
Despite the overwhelming amount of energy being paid to details you'll likely never even notice, this release is DIY by nature. There are bound to be a few minor imperfections.
Compostable and recycled elements were used along with soy inks wherever possible. It's not quite 100%, but it's worth noting that biodegradable alternatives are constantly being researched.
We cannot accommodate special requests for certain elements. If you purchase multiple bundles and end up receiving the same designs when you are trying to collect everything available, you will have to trade with others who are looking to do the same. If there's enough demand, a trade hub can/will be established.
The phone charms have a very thin layer of (removable) protective film on them. Be sure to remove these for a POP of extra color.

Antisummer Club SPC-700 marks my first creative solo output in over five years, and while it may have taken a substantial amount of time to finally land at this point, all aspects of this release were conceptualized, programmed, designed, and rigorously stress tested within one highly concentrated week in August of 2022. Within that short amount of time, inspiration struck (thanks, Liz!), and the concept of Antisummer Club SPC-700 went from a single, three-minute piece in homage to a bygone summer spent with an obscure piece of ‘90s tech, to an ambitious crash course in D.I.Y. project management. The result is a fully bespoken, translucent CD mini album featuring recontextualized source audio from the long-forgotten XBAND modem, a fifty-two page companion book, and a full line of additionally customized merchandise unlike anything I’ve attempted as the head operator of an independent record label.
So, where did this unlikely, vital, and dominant influence originate? 4th gen K-pop, of course.
Despite my best intentions of keeping this creative endeavor as simple as possible, the parallels of not being able to communicate through that old ‘90s tech as a teenager and the current reality of not being able to express my creative gratitude as the result of an English/Korean language barrier became too prevalent to ignore. If the motif of “obscured communication” influenced the artwork of Antisummer Club SPC-700 and it’s subliminal visual references, the music and packaging found significance in K-pop’s duality of unconventional music production wrapped in an ultramodern presentation. The confluence of XBAND and K-pop ended up making more sense than it had any right to: smashing completely unrelated influences together to create something different is hard coded into the DNA of K-pop itself.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the audio and visuals of Antisummer Club SPC-700 as much as I do. lt was fun for me to see a release through from abstract concept to a finalized, physical product in sequential order for the very first time. If music is in fact a universal language, perhaps now my excitement is finally loud and clear.
Artwork, music, merchandising, advertising, and project management by TSC (Tyler St Clair). Antisummer Club SPC-700 and all related content conceptualized, finalized, and stress tested over the week of August 1st, 2022 at Studio Blackstone 1.
Everything you hear was made possible using nothing more than the XBAND OST as source material, a Super MIDI Pak MIDI cartridge for interfacing/mangling, and the MPC Live for programming. All audio was recorded direct from an SNES.

I've always loved radiograffiti releases over other genres of hardcore music, there's this anger and wickedness that you just don't hear in a lot of other stuff. And it's not just jacking up the tempo with reckless abandon either, this music is focused and tight. Always a pleasure to hear what radiograffiti comes up with next. Ultra Chupa

kinda got turned on to this kat sorta late, but better late than never🤷🏻♂️... seriously one of the best lp’s to drop in a hot minute. If you’re a fan of Christoph De Babalon or Bogdan Raczynski, Hexadeci will slip all up in ya all comfy and proper. Every track on this Xl65 is a f’n burner, so I can’t pick just one. Snatch it up, rave it up solo or with friends damon kirby
The soundtrack to indie game “Cottage Quest” is a marvel of pointillist synths and chiptune influence—charming and catchy all at once. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 6, 2023
