Arch's Women and Allies Employee Network recently hosted a webinar for employees during which Fabienne In-Albon, OLY, a former professional golfer and Olympic participant, shared insights on how to cultivate an athlete’s mindset for personal and professional development. Central to her message were four key pillars: clarity, courage, focus and resilience. These pillars serve as the bedrock for adjusting one’s mindset to achieve goals. Throughout the hour-long session, In-Albon asked thought-provoking questions designed to shift how we may perceive a current situation, turning obstacles into opportunities. “In the past, I gave every shot the chance to be the best of the day. Nowadays, I give every day the chance to be the best of the week. So, give every kind of change — and every decision — the chance to be the best of your life,” In-Albon said.

Today, Arch’s Board of Directors has declared a special cash dividend of $1.9 billion to common shareholders, representing $5.00 per outstanding common share. The special dividend is payable on Dec. 4, 2024, to common shareholders of record on Nov. 18, 2024. “Arch is operating from a position of strength with a long track record of superior performance that is among the best in the insurance industry,” Arch CEO Nicolas Papadopoulo said. “As part of our ongoing capital management responsibilities, the Board and management have determined that a special dividend is the most effective way to return capital to shareholders at this time. We are thrilled to announce the promotion of two longtime Arch executives today: David Gansberg has been named President, Arch Capital Group Ltd., with primary accountability for Arch’s Insurance Group. Gansberg, who has been CEO of Arch’s Mortgage Group since 2019, now oversees Arch’s North American and International Insurance Operations. Maamoun Rajeh has been named President, Arch Capital Group Ltd., with primary responsibility for Arch’s Mortgage and Reinsurance groups. In this expanded role, Rajeh adds responsibility for Arch’s market-leading Mortgage Group while maintaining oversight of the Reinsurance Group he’s led since 2017. “Maamoun and David have been integral to Arch’s success since 2001 and are crucial to our future performance,” said Arch CEO Nicolas Papadopoulo. “As we seek to further develop our deep bench of leaders, exposing David and Maamoun to new parts of our business will allow them to expand their knowledge while bringing their leadership and perspectives to other segments. They both have a keen understanding of our business and a legacy of developing talent. Arch's lease rental bond program issues surety bonds to offer rent payment security for apartment leases throughout the U.S. This initiative aids individuals in securing housing in neighborhoods and properties with better opportunities and increased safety, while contributing to development of personal credit history. Since its launch in 2019, this program has aided more than 61,000 individuals or families achieve their housing goals.

Maria Hernandez, SHRM-CP is an HR Coordinator for Arch Capital Services LLC. She has worked for Arch for a year and a half, and obtained her SHRM-CP certification in 2023.   Maria was born and raised in North Carolina, and has two siblings, one older and one younger brother. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, traveling, trying new restaurants and spending time with her friends and family. She also likes to stay active through golf, pickleball, tennis and running.    Maria’s ethnic background is a combination of Venezuelan and Nicaraguan cultures. Her mom is from Venezuela, and her dad is from Nicaragua, which has allowed her to experience the traditions and cultures of both countries. Some of her favorite childhood memories are from when she visited both countries. Influences from her parents and grandparents shaped Maria’s cultural identity and have given her a deep sense of pride in her heritage.   When asked what about the Latino/Hispanic experience brings her joy, Maria shared: “One of the things that brings me the most joy about the Latino/Hispanic experience is the deep sense of connection and the importance placed on family. The way we celebrate food, music and being together is another thing that brings me joy, and it’s a reminder of how important connection and tradition are in our community.”   And when asked what Hispanic Heritage Month means to her, she added: “Hispanic Heritage Month is about recognizing the contributions of Hispanic/Latino people and giving visibility to our culture and history.
