Hello from Chicago! We're here at IMTS - International Manufacturing Technology Show all week showcasing how simple machine data collection, standardization, and distribution can be with the FairCom Edge platform. But that's not all we have—stop by booth #134606 for stickers, games, and an adorably tiny robot. #IMTS2024 #IMTS

You're already using FairCom DB—even if you don't know it. It can seem a little odd to some people: If we're so prevalent, why wouldn't they have heard of us before? Well, how often do you think about your water heater? When it breaks. What about your furnace? Just for yearly upkeep. People seem to have bought into the idea that tech needs to be constantly babied, with constant management and oversight. But our customers measure downtime in seconds per decade. So, yes. You'll probably forget about us. We'll get you set up, and off you'll go into the sunset. But is that so bad? Your tech should work for you; not the other way around. #datamanagement #database #techsupport #sql #json

While the manufacturing world has always been slow to change, some advances are so great that they can’t be ignored. Today’s big advancement comes courtesy of IIoT. Here’s the thing about this new tech: You don’t have to throw out the older systems. SCADA systems are often seen as at-odds with IIoT platforms, but it doesn’t have to be this way. One of our most popular blogs (for good reason!) explains the similarities, differences, and pro/cons of both. It also shows the secret path toward integrating an IIoT platform WITH your SCADA. https://bit.ly/4cml5gd #SCADA #IIoT #IndustrialAutomation

It was great talking with . Lisa Ryan, CSP about all the ways technology innovations are empowering manufacturers to make factories more efficient. And the best part? This tech is simple to use, and simple to implement. Listen to the full podcast on our site: https://bit.ly/3M14gwG #manufacturing #industrialiot #iiot #machinelearning

Traditional factory integration is inefficient and costly. Either you connect each and every machine together (which is costly), or you let your machines stay siloed and miss out on analytics data (also costly). Mike Bowers explains how to fix both problems with one simple solution. #edge #edgecomputing #industry40 #factoryintegration

Let's talk about OT and IT. They're never going to be friends, and they're never going to get along well. But for the future of Industry 4.0, they must be able to work together. What might this look like? OT needs to protect its assets. Software eventually works, and hardware eventually breaks. IT needs OT data, but it can't introduce the instability typical to IT environments onto the factory floor. On the other hand, OT needs the advantages and optimizations AI and Machine Learning provide. You need data to train the AI models. The solution is to enable OT to push data to IT without affecting any other part of factory operations. That data also needs to be transformed for IT use. To do this, you need an MQTT broker optimized for transformation. FairCom Edge combines an MQTT broker, embedded database, and transformation engine. The result is that OT can collect data from machines (regardless of protocol), store it on-premises in the database, and push it out to subscribers in IT formats (SQL, HTTP, REST, etc.) via the MQTT broker. Are you ready to bridge the gap and gain a competitive edge? Databases aren't complicated (or, at least, they don't have to be). Our latest and greatest, ✨FairCom DB v13,✨ lets you perform all database operations by posting JSON over HTTPS or WSS with our JSON DB API. Here's an example of creating a table taken from our latest blog, which covers some of the most useful JSON commands for your database management. Visit our site to read more!
