Cattle Hill Wind Farm recently welcomed a visit by the Hon Josh Wilson MP, Assistant Minister for Climate Change and Energy. Mr Josh Wilson MP, was taken on a site tour by John Titchen, Director, Goldwind Australia, and we showcased how the power of wind at Cattle Hill is harnessed to generate renewable energy for thousands of Tasmanian homes. Key highlights of the tour included viewing its substation, IdentiFlight avoidance system and 48 turbines.  The Minister also heard about the great work that was done by Goldwind on community engagement and local business participation, as well as the complexities of the wind farm’s operations and construction. “We are proud that our work on Cattle Hill Wind Farm is making a significant contribution to Tasmania’s renewable energy ambitions,” said John. “We are excited about Australia’s future and transition to renewable energy. Goldwind has celebrated an important milestone in partnership with Pacific Energy, having successfully and safely installed the first of four GW165/6.0MW wind turbines for AngloGold Ashanti Australia and Regis Resources Ltd Tropicana renewables project. The 24MW wind farm is part of a broader 115MW power station, which once completed is expected to be one of the largest off-grid energy facilities combining gas, wind, solar, and battery storage in Australia’s resources sector.
