Welcome back to our "Meet the Healthcare Team" mini-series, where we showcase the talents of our Mott MacDonald healthcare experts. 🎬 In our second instalment, we introduce Rob Neave MSc HCL MCMI ChMC, managing consultant and specialist in Integrated Care Systems (ICS). Before joining our organization two years ago, Rob spent over ten years working for the NHS, where he developed a deep understanding of the complexities of the #healthcare system. He now utilizes these skills to work with senior leaders in the industry, promoting collaboration and integration with neighbouring healthcare organizations. Rob strongly believes that healthcare accounts for only a small part of a person's health and well-being. He emphasizes that collaboration and integration within an ICS are essential for addressing the wider determinants of health and improving population health. Ask us to create a list of difficult places to #tunnel and downtown LA would be near the top. #ChallengeAccepted Why? Space both above and below ground is limited, utilities would need to be diverted where possible, and California is known for its seismic activity. 🚇 These are challenges our teams were prepared to overcome to help Los Angeles Metro and Metrolink deliver the Los Angeles Regional Connector. Find out how we enabled seamless, stressless journeys for the people of LA County together. 👇 https://mottm.ac/3BLqil7 #Engineering #Transit #Rail

Celebrating 5 years of positive action by the Net Zero Infrastructure Industry Coalition (NZIIC) The NZIIC was founded in 2019 when the UK Government committed to net zero by 2050. From its launch involving Mott MacDonald, Pinsent Masons, Skanska, Transport for London, Anglian Water Services, UKCRIC and the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), there are now 14 organisations working within the coalition. Over the last five years the NZIIC has brought the sector together to find solutions and offer clear guidance on how to tackle the challenges we face. Looking ahead to the issues NZIIC and the wider industry must tackle, founding NZIIC members Simon Harrison, who is group strategy director at Mott MacDonald, and Graham Robinson, who is global business consultant for Pinsent Masons, call for more action around resource efficiency and low carbon materials. In this article for New Civil Engineer, Simon and Graham express that “as an industry, we’ve become fixated on carbon but not on resource use”. In the piece they explain that this challenge reaches further than just the UK as 50% of the world’s extractives go into new construction and urbanisation. Simon and Graham suggest that we need to get to a point where 90% of construction materials are reused worldwide and joining the NZIIC is key to bringing the sector together to achieve this. If you would like to learn more about what the NZIIC has achieved over the last five years and how it plans to bring about this collaborative focus on resource use alongside net zero, read the full article here: https://mottm.ac/3BHZmTj #Sustainability #netzero #Construction #Innovation #Collaboration #NZIIC

Early career professionals (ECPs) are our future leaders and the heart of our company! This month, among the many global get-togethers, we hosted two events in our North American business to help ECPs shape and achieve their career goals. ✨ We welcomed engineering students from New Jersey Institute of Technology to our New Jersey office, where they learned what it's like to work on some of our key projects in various markets and make an impact. ✨ Our very own ECPs joined us on the #WestCoast to connect with our leaders and learn about the many paths their careers can take at Mott MacDonald. We're grateful to have a global ECP community that fosters knowledge sharing, career growth, and mentorship. Here's to continued guidance, growth, and success to all ECPs, and especially those we are lucky enough to call colleagues. 👏 Interested in a career in engineering? Our graduate and intern roles are still open, #apply now: https://mottm.ac/3YeZjWN
