By 2030, only emission-free delivery vehicles will be allowed in city centres, setting a bold precedent for sustainable urban transport. 🌊 Global Commitment to Urban Wetlands Grows The Ramsar Convention has recognised 31 new Wetland Cities, reinforcing the importance of urban wetlands for biodiversity, flood protection, and climate resilience. With this addition, the global network now includes 43 cities across 17 countries, ensuring stronger conservation efforts for these critical ecosystems. 🐃 Bison Return to Native Lands in the United States Tribal bison ranchers across the United States are leading efforts to return thousands of bison to Indigenous lands, helping to rejuvenate ecosystems and restore cultural traditions. As these herds grow, their presence is supporting native grasslands, increasing biodiversity, and strengthening local food systems. The treaty is a major step toward protecting marine biodiversity and achieving the global target of preserving 30% of the ocean by 2030. 🌳 $1.5 Billion Investment to Protect the Amazon At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Silvania, Conservation International, and The Nature Conservancy announced a major funding initiative to protect the Amazon rainforest. The "Race to Belém" project will generate financing through jurisdictional carbon credits, supporting conservation efforts in the world’s largest rainforest. 🌱 Turning Empty Offices into Urban Farms Innovative urban farming projects are transforming unused office spaces into vertical farms, providing fresh produce in cities while reducing the environmental footprint of food production. These projects repurpose vacant buildings, offering a creative solution to food security and sustainability challenges.
