Yesterday we hosted our event "AI for Efficiency Gains in SaaS," as part of our new initiative, SaaSholic Session. These workshops are designed to support SaaS founders in targeted areas. Our first session aimed to address a gap we have felt in the current landscape of AI discussions. While many events cover topics like "The Future of AI" with a broad, non-practical view, others dive deep into technical aspects for CTOs. There seemed to be a lack of practical, actionable discussion on "Street Smart AI": the quick, practical applications of AI. We thank all the participants who took the time to come, particularly our speakers—Roberto Viana and João Lanzarotto from Ipê Digital, Hugo Dias from Triple Session and André Assis from Yooga —who generously shared their insights and practical steps for efficiently implementing AI strategies. The discussions spanned various topics, including the use of AI in Customer Service, Sales for both high and low-ticket items, as well as best practices for utilizing WhatsApp. Special thanks go to Pedro Luiz Rego and Marcella Falcão and the entire Cubo Itaú team for their partnership in this event. It is time for the second edition of Giants of SaaS, a series of articles sharing the untold backstage stories of the largest tech entrepreneurs in Latin America. In this article, we cover the journey of TOTVS (B3: TOTS3). Famous for its amazing feat of owning the ERP market in Brazil. Their journey is among the titans of the tech industry - not only locally, but globally. And although the company may be flying under the radar outside of Brazil, TOTVS is the indisputable unsung giant in the region. As usual, this article will feature the stories from the companies’ early days, interviews with the founders, executives, and analyses from renowned investment firms. The unusual bit is that this story will be divided into 2 different articles. It is impossible to tell TOTVS' story without making sure its pre-IPO inception is meticulously explored, as it shows how amazing it was to have the vision the founders had before the microcomputer was a thing. Congratulations Conta Simples for securing a $40m Series B led by Base10 Partners. We are very proud to be early investors in the company and to see it grow to new heights! Back in 2020 when we invested in them we shared the founders’ vision that B2B banking needed to be as simple and digital as B2C banking had become. Things have evolved a lot since 2019: it entered the credit market and has just received approval from the Brazilian Central Bank to operate as an SCD; managed to bring experienced executives to its C-suite such as Taeli Tremarin Klaumann, and there’s a lot more to come!! Last Friday, we hosted our Annual Investor Day at the beautiful Yacht Club Santo Amaro. It was a day filled with content and connections. We reported on our fund performances, announced our latest investment, shared some of our perspectives on the future of SaaS, engaged in some exciting integration activities, and gained valuable insights into M&A and IPOs for SaaS from the amazing Gilberto Mautner and Alberto Menache. It was truly gratifying to see how our investors and portfolio founders embraced the event and enjoyed every moment of it. You can gauge their enthusiasm from the pictures. Our community is invaluable to us, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. We also want to express our deep gratitude to our partners in this event Lucia Sirin and Vanessa Lima, from Sirin2, and to two of our SaaS idols who generously shared their insights on the journey from 0 to IPO and beyond at Locaweb and Linx – Gilberto Mautner and Alberto Menache.

In the midst of a #TechWeek, there was a #TechRun! With so many technology events throughout this past week in São Paulo, SaaSholic joined forces with Cubo Itaú to organize a moment of fun with national and international founders and investors. In between so many happy hours, there's nothing better than balancing it out with some exercise, and it's even better when you're in great company.
