In honor of #InternationalWomensDay last week, our EMEA-based Employee Business Resource Group AGENDA (Advocates for Gender Equality, Neutrality, Development & Action) and other Sony sister groups hosted a One Sony International Women’s Day intersectional leadership event discussing the theme “Accelerate Action.” Taking place at the Sony Music London office and livestreamed in our offices globally, the event featured an executive panel and a networking session to encourage connections and community building. 

One Sony is taking action for a cleaner planet! Sony and Sony Pictures Television’s Hong Kong offices teamed up for a beach clean-up at Bayside Beach in support of the global One Blue Ocean project promoting sustainability. Thank you to the employees, including members of our Wellbeing, Awareness, Vision and Equality (WAVE) APAC Employee Business Resource Group, who came together to highlight the importance of reducing single-use plastics in our daily life! 

#SonyPics’ Responsible Sourcing team recently hosted their 3rd annual Global Procurement Diversity Expo, connecting buyers with highly skilled suppliers across our communities and industry. Attendees at this year’s session enjoyed opening remarks from executive leadership, a panel discussion, an awards ceremony, and innovative exhibitors. 

London Screenings got bigger and better this year, and we were thrilled to showcase our new slate of shows!  We celebrated the world premiere of our new crime drama #ThisCityIsOurs and unveiled some exclusive sneak peaks of our upcoming slate and teasers across our unscripted format shows. A historic moment for Brazilian cinema, I'm Still Here has been awarded Best International Feature Film at the 97th Academy Awards®    This landmark achievement marks the first time a Brazilian film has received this honor, cementing its place in the history of cinema.

#SonyPics sponsored the 7th American Black Film Festival (ABFF) Honors, an event presented by our longstanding partners NICE CROWD to recognize and celebrate Black artists and creatives in the entertainment industry. Actress Keke Palmer, who recently co-starred alongside SZA in TriStar Pictures’ One of Them Days, was honored with the Renaissance Award for her outstanding work and commitment to championing diverse creators in the motion picture and television industry.     Also in attendance were Keith Le Goy (Chairman, Sony Pictures Television), Nicole Brown (President, TriStar Pictures), Ellene Miles (SVP, Global Intersectional Marketing), Bernard Williams (Assistant General Counsel, Ethics & Legal Compliance), and Zakia Holland (VP, Brand Marketing).

Sony Pictures Television has promoted Mike Wald and Jason Spivak to Co-Presidents of Distribution and Networks as they lead the studio’s combined television and home entertainment distribution businesses. Wald and Spivak added in a joint statement: “Sony is very well positioned to continue to succeed in the changing distribution environment. It is incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to work alongside the best teams in the world to navigate this next chapter for the business.”
