HELICOPTER OPERATION CONSOLIDATION IN SOUTH AMERICA The Brazilian company Helisul Aviação, one of the biggest helicopter operators in the industry, has recently announced the acquisition of Ecocopter S.A..  Based in Chile, Ecocopter specializes in high complexity air services such as offshore operations, forest firefighting, constructions, inspection and maintenance of powerlines and air medical transport. The new acquisition represents a major increase in aircraft fleet and an expansion of Helisul’s regional presence all the way to the pacific coast. The new company has bases in Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. Alongside Tim Rolfe and my counterparts Joe Gross and Neil Seabrook FRAeS, from North America and Asia Pacific respectively, we will work to strengthen safety performance worldwide. It’s great to meet our friends in the helicopter industry at the 2024 HeliOffshore Conference in Viena, Austria. These events are a great opportunity to exchange ideas and get insights to build a safer industry, where no lives are lost. HeliOffshore is a global association for the offshore helicopter industry, with 150 members from all around the world. The organization has an important mission to develop collaboration between global stakeholders and to transform frontline safety performance. As regional representatives, we will facilitate tailored regional meeting in partnership with the HeliOffshore team, communicate the latest insights from its Safety Intelligence Programme, and coordinate feedback on regional issues to enhance the association’s safety initiatives and recommendations. The biggest convention specialized in the helicopter industry, with more than 500 expositors, including all major helicopter and engine manufacturers, engineering companies presenting the latest modification and upgrades, repair stations, and part manufacturers, just to mention a few. The helicopter industry is a key market for Vinci. Last year, we once more performed more than 100 helicopter inspections worldwide, and the Heli-Expo is the best opportunity to meet our current and future customers. For us, HAI is more than a chance for doing business. It is an opportunity to meet and talk to invaluable friends who have been with us during all these years supporting the industry.
