PRESS RELEASE: STANBIC BANK EXTENDS SUPPORT TO PRIVATE SECTOR DISASTER RELIEF FUND In response to the devastating floods impacting communities across Botswana, Stanbic Bank Botswana has pledged P2 million to the Private Sector Disaster Response Fund (PSDRF). This contribution will support emergency relief efforts, provide essential aid, and assist in rebuilding affected areas. The PSDRF, established by Business Botswana, is a private-sector-led initiative that mobilises swift financial assistance during natural disasters. It helps bridge gaps where government aid may be delayed or insufficient, ensuring an accountable and structured response. Managed by a dedicated board and in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Committee (NDMC), the PSDRF ensures efficient coordination of relief efforts across the country. Stanbic Bank Botswana Chief Executive, Mr Chose Modise , said, “While rain is a blessing, the recent floods have caused immense devastation to businesses, communities, and households. Business Botswana’s initiative in creating the PSDRF is commendable, and we are honoured to support this cause. Our contribution reflects our commitment to standing with our communities, ensuring aid reaches those most in need swiftly. As Batswana, we take pride in the values of care, botho, and unity - especially in times of crisis. Botswana is our home, and together, we will rebuild.”
