Our 2000 Bathurst St. project in Toronto (gearing up for occupancy this summer; 6 stories, 2 levels of U/G parking, 54 purpose built rental units) was required to partake in public art for the hoarding - - a process that we personally love a lot - - what better way to showcase and support our talented artists; shoutout on this one to Ulmo88 (the artist.) We had an enquiry last week from one of the residents at the Hemingway apartments (condo) across the street from the project site, requesting the panel showcasing their building where Ernest Hemingway lived as they celebrate 101 years! The Developer agreed to donate this panel to them once construction wraps up. What a beautiful evolution (and so much meaning) behind one simple little hoarding panel. 59 Q&A with team member Peer Mohamed, Construction Project Manager: Q: How did you end up working in a Construction Management firm? A: I have a passion for managing large, complex projects, and I was drawn to the abundant opportunities in construction management available here in Toronto. My background in project management, associated with developers and consultants which provided a strong foundation for this role.  Q: What’s the biggest challenge you face coming to construction in Canada (Ontario) vs. your early career experience in the Middle East? A: My biggest challenge was adjusting to differences in industry practices, particularly in communication management, and contract enforcement. This required me to adapt my methods and expectations, but it also provided a valuable opportunity to integrate best practices from both regions into my work. Q: What’s your secret to success? A: My secret to success is accommodating others, willing to take decisions & risks to move forward, prioritizing project interests first, and striving to improve quality at every step. Q: What’s your favorite thing about working with the 59 squad? A: The best part is the positive-minded staff who are always willing to help and complement each other. Q: Summer or Winter and why? A: Winter! I still enjoy watching the snowfall, walking through snow-covered landscapes. Plus, I’ve experienced enough hot summer for a lifetime. We loved this, Peer! Thank you for participating!
