Never toss fresh food again! Abeego beeswax wrap protects, breathes, & mimics nature's peel to extend the life of food.
About us
In 2008, Toni Desrosiers invented Abeego—the very first reusable beeswax food wrap that keeps food alive for longer than ever imagined. Inspired by nature’s lemon peel, Abeego is both breathable and protective, offering the perfect environment to preserve fresh food. As a proud B Corp Certified company located in Victoria, BC, Canada, we’re on a mission to end food waste right in our own kitchens and nourish a world free to do more good collectively than alone. We march forward on this mission with our four core values at the heart of everything we do: 1. LIVE WHERE LOGIC AND INSPIRATION MEET We believe logic and inspiration are equally weighted and we anchor decisions at this intersection to let ourselves dream big, seek opportunity within boundaries, and commit to doing something, especially when we can’t do everything. 2. APPRECIATE EVERYONE AND EVERYTHING We cherish, harvest, and regenerate the natural resources abundant in people and the planet, appreciating that it’s the many individuals who will bring something unique to co-create the world we’re in pursuit of. 3. HUNGER TO FEED Knowing what you feed grows, we commune around the table and ground ourselves in reciprocity and curiosity, eager to exchange what we have with those around us. 4. DO GOOD. DO BETTER. We bring our best with a can-do, will-do, will-learn attitude and then evolve it through collaboration and teamwork into something even better that will create a positive impact through our company and community. Join us as we disrupt normalized food waste and share with the community what it means to embrace a living, breathing kitchen. ***Employees are our most valuable resource. All team members receive a living wage in alignment with Living Wage Canada.***

I invented Abeego. It came knocking in 2007, harassed me at work, interrupted my dreams and peppered my thoughts. It demanded to exist and I acquiesced. For almost two decades, what’s become commonly known as beeswax wrap consumed, inspired and educated me. It told me all its secrets and then it left. Two years ago new ideas came knocking, harassing me at work, interrupting my dreams and peppering my thoughts. They’re demanding to exist and it’s time to acquiesce. Abeego is closing. Let me tell you why it’s a smart decision. I'm sending the inside scoop to your inbox! Abeego is closing. In 2008, I invented the world’s first beeswax wrap. Together, 🥑We taught folks to Keep Food Alive placing nearly 4 million beeswax wraps in kitchens around the world! 🦖We disrupted the dinosaur of an industry that is plastic wrap and they never even saw us coming! 🍋We saved enough fresh living food to feed a small country! 🌎We inspired folks around the world to bring beeswax wrap to life in their own communities. 🐝We altered the fabric of food storage for all time even if folks are still wrapping their heads around it. 👏We paid a staff of 20+ people a living wage for close to 10 years despite a global economic death spiral. 🔥We developed a 100% zero waste production process and created damn impressive products. 🏆We earned the coveted B Corp Certification. And most importantly we met, we got to know each other and we built something incredible, no, we built something LEGENDARY. My work here with Abeego is done, but there’s more food to save. I’ll love Abeego for as long as I live but I love fresh food more and my desire to Keep Food Alive for a food secure world has never been stronger. If you are addressing systemic food waste, food insecurity, or food sovereignty, then maybe we should put our heads together. Abeego is closing but we still have some bills to pay. Help us move through all remaining inventory! Our wraps are 50% off while supplies last ➡️ abeego.com Thank you to everyone who brought Abeego into their hearts and hands over the last 17 years. Keep Food Alive, Toni
