PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES The primary responsibilities of this position include: • Responsibility for managing and coordinating the delivery of major capital projects, including the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal shoreside infrastructure project and additional waterfront capital projects, as required, including dockwall rehabilitation, various site preparation and environmental works projects, as well as above-grade and below grade construction projects. • Develop and execute strategies and plans that support efficient and effective project delivery and reduce risks to the delivery schedule, scope and budget • Responsible for supervising preparation of contract drawings and documents including contracts, tendering, award and construction to closeout of project • Implement project management tools to monitor and report on project schedule, costs to date, total expected costs to budget and unresolved schedule and cost risks • Ensure that design and construction meets all regulations, and safety codes • Review and recommend for approval contractor tender awards • Assist with preparation of construction related permit applications • Work with the site construction team, consultants, sub-trades, and suppliers to ensure they are meeting all project contractual obligations, change orders are properly and efficiently deal with while adhering to budget and schedule • Attend design and site construction meetings to ensure satisfactory progress and timely decisions on change notices and orders • Review, approve, and recommend for payment, invoices, progress draws and change orders for the general contractors and consultants • Coordinate project work with asset owners and utilities as needed • M
