Cured-in-Place-Pipe (#CIPP) technology is transforming #watermain rehabilitation by offering a cost-effective, environmentally friendly alternative to traditional replacement. For the City of Markham, Accardi Engineering installed CIPP linings to extend the lifespan of aging cast iron pipes without major excavation or disruption to residents and businesses. By reducing excavation, we minimize environmental impact while ensuring faster installation and uninterrupted water service. The result? Aging infrastructure can compromise water quality and reliability. The City of Markham entrusted Accardi Engineering Group with replacing five kilometers of aging cast iron watermain with a 200-mm diameter PVC watermain. Our team tackled corrosion risks, upgraded substandard water services, and replaced hydrants and valves to enhance system functionality. Using a combination of open-cut and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) methods, we ensured minimal disruption while improving efficiency, safety, and compliance with modern standards.
