AKA would like to congratulate Seadrill on completing their successful sea trials and proving that the updated DP control system with the AKA Swing Bus works as intended. 🌍 Last month the West Polaris left the yard in Singapore before heading to the South China Sea for crucial sea trials before making her way to Cape Town and then Brazil. ⚓ As part of our commitment to excellence, we’ve upgraded the DP (dynamic positioning) control system with the AKA Swing Bus. This means we need to conduct a new FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and perform extensive DP trials, also known as sea trials. I’m excited to share that I recently had the opportunity to travel to Singapore for 3 weeks, where I conducted testing on the drillship Pacific Zonda at the Seatrium Shipyard. This was my first experience traveling for work, and it turned out to be an incredibly rewarding journey. I want to extend my sincere thanks to AKA Energy Systems for trusting me with this project. Special appreciation goes to our technical lead, Edward Bourgeau, engineering manager, Svilen Zlatev, project manager, Laura Tena, and site partner, Alexander Faulds. Your guidance and support were invaluable. I would also like to thank the Electrical System Integrators at AKA for the impeccably designed testing kit that I had the privilege of using on-site.
