Meet Sabrina, a proud Newfie who is currently a Wheelsman while working towards her Mates ticket. Sabrina’s love for the sea was inevitable—growing up on saltwater and a passion for travel made becoming a sailor the perfect fit. When she’s not on deck, Sabrina is a dedicated mom who enjoys everything the great outdoors has to offer. Her journey reflects the strength and support she finds in both her family and her crew. "Balancing being a mom and a sailor is hard but I’ve been blessed with a great support system and if you get a good crew, the crew becomes family, and the ship becomes home." Sabrina is grateful for the opportunities that have opened up because of her career, as well as the unique benefits working on water provides - great views, new people, and continuous learning and growing. Algoma, United Way Niagara, and Beatties teamed up together to help ensure Niagara students are geared up for the new school year. The Backpacks for Kids program provides children and youth from low-income households with the needed items for a successful school year. This year, 2500 backpacks were filled by Algoma and United Way employees and then delivered to local schools by Beatties' transport trucks. Thank you to our employees and their family members who volunteered their time for this impactful community initiative.

Welcome Fure Spear! Freshly painted in familiar colours, she is co-owned by FureBear and Larsson Shipping through joint venture SeaBear. Formerly known as the Liv Knutsen, this 16 500 dwt product & chemical tanker is a high standard vessel of her generation trading in Europe since her delivery in 2009. While awaiting further Vinga vessel deliveries from the shipyard, Fure Spear makes a good addition helping us service our customers for the next five years. She will be commercially managed by Furetank Chartering in the Gothia Tanker Alliance. Fun fact: Fure Spear is named after a lighthouse on the Canadian east coast, while the first SeaBear vessel Fure Skagen refers to a Danish lighthouse facing the west coast of Sweden. Another symbol of our intercontinental partnership with Algoma Central Corporation :-D #gothiatankeralliance #shipping #sjöfart
