📣 We’re thrilled to announce our exciting new collaboration with Hamilton Health Sciences to advance AI research in breast cancer! This partnership will focus on developing and evaluating prognostic AI models for the most common cancer in women—starting with the creation of a robust, longitudinal, and multi-modal breast cancer dataset. Supported by the SOPHIE program and Fed Dev Ontario, this initiative represents a significant step towards improving our understanding of disease progression. At Altis Labs, we’re proud to expand our work into breast cancer and continue growing the industry's largest real-world imaging database. 📈 The Impact of Clinical Development Decisions on Time to Market and Development Risk in Oncology -- This article is a great read - it highlights just how challenging it is to make the right R&D decisions in oncology by evaluating the risk vs. reward of strategic decisions across 12,000+ oncology clinical trials. The bottom line: “each month a program can accelerate to market adds an estimated $5-6M of net present value per billion dollars of peak year sales”. Altis’ AI-models are applied to clinical trial imaging to anticipate differences in overall survival between trial arms, generating additional evidence for Sponsors to inform key R&D decisions. When the right insights lead to the right decisions, the impact is measured not just in financial returns, but also in reduced time to get life saving therapies to the patients that need them. FDA has just released draft guidance outlining the use of AI to support regulatory decision-making for drug approvals. This is a significant step forward for the industry; FDA is paving the way for innovative approaches in clinical trials—enabling smaller, faster, and more efficient studies. These advancements not only have the potential to accelerate the pace of drug approvals but also improve patient outcomes by bringing life-saving therapies to market sooner. As a developer of AI models that support R&D decision-making, Altis Labs is excited to see this new guidance. FDA’s invitation to comment on this draft guidance is an important opportunity for stakeholders to collaborate on establishing a framework for AI-driven innovations.
