Evacuating eligible people at risk, from nations in crises. Helping them find safety, dignity, and a new beginning.
About us
Established on August 16th, 2021 as a federally incorporated Canadian nonprofit and non-governmental organization, Aman Lara emerged in response to the escalating security and humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. The organization was founded with a distinct purpose — to aid vulnerable Afghans who supported Canadian missions in evacuating and finding refuge in Canada and other safe jurisdictions. Since then, we have evolved into a key advocate for Afghans who risked their lives in support of Canadian missions while also demonstrating resilience and adaptability to address emerging crises within the changing landscape of global refugee needs. Aman Lara stands as a testament to the collaboration between serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces, Veterans, ex-Locally Employed Staff, and dedicated Canadian volunteers. This unique alliance underscores our commitment to a shared mission: to enable the evacuation of eligible people at risk, from nations in crises, for the purpose of resettlement in Canada and other safe resettlement jurisdictions helping them find safety, dignity, and a new beginning in welcoming communities. From navigating the complexities of evacuating vulnerable Afghans amidst the deteriorating security situation in August 2021 to responding swiftly and flexibly to the outbreak of war in Ukraine in February 2022, Aman Lara serves as a vital lifeline for those in dire circumstances, providing pathways for safe resettlement.

Reports of conflict-related sexual violence have risen by 50% in recent years. Yet, funding shortfalls are forcing humanitarian organizations to cut essential services. This International Women’s Day, we raise the alarm: these gaps are putting displaced women and girls at unprecedented risk. #IWD2025 https://bit.ly/3Dx83RB

As Canada's population becomes increasingly diverse, the demand for professionals who can connect with a wide range of customers is more critical than ever. The food and beverage industry, a cornerstone of Canada's economy, with over 8,500 businesses generating nearly 20% of all manufacturing sales and 4% of the nation's total exports, is no exception. However, the industry faces significant workforce challenges. Projections indicate that by 2030, the sector will need to fill approximately 142,000 positions, accounting for nearly 50% of its current workforce. This shortage is driven by factors such as an aging population and existing vacancies. This is where Aman Lara’s 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲, 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 (𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗣) 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 comes in to offer a strategic solution to these challenges. Our pool of multilingual skilled refugees is poised to fill key roles in the Food and Beverage Manufacturing industry. With their deep understanding of different cultures, languages, and customs, they bridge cultural gaps and create more welcoming, personalized experiences for guests. By hiring through Horizon Hope, your company will demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion while meeting the needs of an evolving customer base. These restrictions go beyond education, as Afghan women face increasing barriers to movement, employment, and self-expression, pushing the vision of equality further out of reach. At Aman Lara, we are committed to expanding our support for Afghan women, girls, and marginalized communities. But we cannot do it alone.
