AMPP represents the largest global community of corrosion and protective coatings professionals. Our members are dedicated to advancing technical and practical expertise in corrosion prevention and control. AMPP provides members with the knowledge and resources to ensure high performance materials are used to build and maintain sustainable infrastructure. The Edmonton chapter is one of the largest sections that has played a significant role promoting the corrosion industry. AMPP's membership is comprised of: engineers, inspectors and technicians; presidents, business owners and consultants; managers, supervisors and sales representatives; scientists, chemists and researchers; and educators and students. 🌟 Celebrating International Women in Engineering Day! 🌟 Meet Enedina Alves Marques, a trailblazer who made history as the first Black woman to earn an engineering degree in Brazil in 1945. Her perseverance as a devoted educator and civil engineer opened doors for future generations. 💭 Interesting facts: 🔬 Enedina was the sole woman in her engineering class of 32 at the Federal University of Paraná. 🌍 She played a crucial role in the Paraná State's Department of Water and Energy, contributing to significant hydroelectric projects like the Capivari-Cachoeira Plant. 🏅 A street was named after her in 1988 in the Cajuru neighborhood of Curitiba: Rua Engenheira Enedina Alves Marques.
