Today, I’m excited to welcome new AMS Fellows for the 2024 AMS Fellowship Residency. Over the next three days, these incredible individuals will delve into the intersection of AI, compassion, and healthcare leadership with the aim of equipping them with the skills and tools they need to lead the transformative change our healthcare systems truly need. At AMS Healthcare, we believe that compassionate leadership is essential to driving meaningful change in healthcare. More importantly, we believe in investing in people and providing them with the opportunities to exceed their full potential. Through this residency, our AMS Fellows will build meaningful relationships, hone their leadership skills to bring compassion into their teams and organizations, and explore how to drive system-wide change in healthcare. The days ahead are filled with learning, collaboration, and growth. My hope is that each AMS Fellow leaves feeling empowered—not only with new tools and knowledge, but with a sense of belonging and purpose in the AMS Healthcare community. Let’s build a healthcare system that is driven by empathy, collaboration, and innovation.

Leadership in healthcare demands trust, collaboration, and the ability to build sustainable solutions. I had the pleasure of speaking with Donna Duncan, CEO of the Ontario Long Term Care Association, who navigated one of the most challenging moments in our healthcare system during the COVID-19 pandemic.   Donna shared how her deep experience in public service experience and ability to foster relationships, helped her navigate the complex and evolving crisis of the pandemic. We also discussed the pressing need of long-term care reform, breaking down silos in government, and the power of community-driven solutions in healthcare.   What stood out to me is Donna’s approach to leadership—whether in government, children’s mental health, or long-term care—it has always centered on creating shared visions and building trust. Her ability to foster calm and collaboration in moments of crisis, while staying focused on long-term, sustainable solutions, has been invaluable to the long-term care sector.   A heartfelt thank you to Donna for joining us and sharing her leadership journey. Her insights into navigating complex systems and driving lasting change in healthcare are truly remarkable, and I hope they resonate with you as they did with me.   🎧 Listen to my conversation with Donna on Compassionate Minds - Episode 7 here: https://lnkd.in/gpAbSgSd
